I personally try to balance the equation without looking at the given coefficients in the unbalanced reaction and this is my result:
2 C2H14+11 O2--> 4 CO2+14 H2O
I think none of the given answers are correct, and the answer is obviously 11.
Hope this will help :))

First of all, I'm pretty sure it is impossible to have a compound C2H14, it just won't do according to the rules of organic chemistry. But this is a combustion reaction, and if this is a complete combustion this reaction is not only impossible but illogical as well. Therefore, I encourage that you talk to your teacher about this question :/

Calculate the number of moles when 3.00l of a gas at 814 mmhg and 25 °c?
Mariulka [41]
  • Volume=V=3L
  • Pressure=P=814mmHg
  • Temp=T=25°C

So

No of moles=n

\\ \rm\rightarrowtail PV=nRT

\\ \rm\rightarrowtail n=\dfrac{PV}{RT}

\\ \rm\rightarrowtail n=\dfrac{814(3)}{25R}

\\ \rm\rightarrowtail n=2442/25R

\\ \rm\rightarrowtail n=97.7Rmol

A beaker contains 0.50 mol of potassium bromide in 600 ml of water. an additional 600 ml of water is added. the number of moles
abruzzese [7]
The answer is 0.50 mol. The number of moles of potassium bromide in the beaker will not change since there is no additional potassium bromide introduced to the solution. The molarity of potassium bromide, the number of moles of water, the volume of the water solvent and the volume of the solution will all change if water is added.

Explain why some people use the term decimal system as a synonym for the metric system?
Luda [366]

Answer:

The term Decimal is coined from the word Decimus. Decimus is a Latin word which means ‘tenth’.

The Decimal system is a system of numbering that is based on multiples of tens. It is flexible and easy to convert from one metric to another.

The preference of the term over the Metric System is because the word Metric is related more to the measurement of lengths if we looked at the origin of the word which is French.

Cheers!
