How would you write an equation of the line with the points (-2,4) (4,1)

There are several eqaiton types

1. point slope
passes through (x1,y1) and has a slope of m
y-y1=m(x-x1)

2. slope intercept
y=mx+b
m=slope
b=y intercept

3. standard form
ax+by=c or ax+by-c=0
where a, b, and c are integers and a is usually positive

so

first find the slope

slope between (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
slope between (-2,4) and (4,1) is (1-4)/(4-(-2))=(-3)/(4+2)=-3/6=-1/2

use point slope
using point (4,1)
y-1=-1/2(x-4)

now let's do slope intercept
solve for y
y-1=-1/2(x-4)
y-1=-1/2x+2
y=-1/2x+3 is slope intercept

now standard form
times both sides by 2
2y=-x+6
add x both sides
x+2y=6 is standard form

so

possible equations are
y-1=\frac{-1}{2}(x-4)
y-4=\frac{-1}{2}(x+2)
y=\frac{-1}{2}x+3
x+2y=6
x+2y-6=0

Answer:

762 raffle tickets

Step-by-step explanation:

16×9.32= 149.12

34×9.32= 316.88

3×9.32= 27.96

4×9.32= 37.28

add them all up= 531.24

531.24-150=381.24

381.24÷.50=762.48

If 2 1/4 pounds of bananas cost $1.89, what is the cost per pound?
Svetach [21]

Answer:

The cost per pound of bananas is $0.84.

Step-by-step explanation:

The question asks to use the given information to set up a proportion and solve for the missing variable.  In this case, we know that the cost of 2 1/4 (or 2.25) bananas is $1.89.  Since they are asking for cost per pound, we can set up a ratio (fraction):

\frac{1.89}{2.25}=\frac{cost}{pounds}

Since the cost of bananas is the same regardless of the number of pounds, we can set up a proportion to find the cost for just one (1) pound:

\frac{1.89}{2.25}=\frac{x}{1}  Where 'x' is the cost.

Using cross-multiplication and division we get:  2.25x = 1.89.  Next, we use inverse operations to divide both sides by 2.25:  2.25x/2.25 = 1.89/2.25.  Solve:  x = 0.84 or $0.84 per pound.

Am I correct I think I found my answer but I am not sure ??
Sauron [17]

In a parallelogram, opposite sides are parallel and equal . So to prove JKLM a parallelogram, we need to satisfy both criterias . And only the last option stand up on both criterias that is opposite sides are parallel and equal .

So the correct option is the last option .
