Answer:

<em>Dimensions : 3x by 3x + 2</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us start with factoring this polynomial expression, as such;

9x^2 + 6x, ⇒ factor out common term 3x,

3x * ( 3x + 2 )

Now if the area of this court is factored to be 3x * ( 3x + 2 ), we can determine it's dimensions through the multiplication of length * width;

Area of Court = length * width,

3x * ( 3x + 2 ) = length * width,

3x * ( 3x + 2 ) = 3x ⇒ ( length ) *  3x + 2 ⇒ ( width ),

Length ⇒ 3x, and Width ⇒ 3x + 2 ( or vice versa ),

Width ⇒ 3x, and Length ⇒ 3x + 2

<em>Dimensions : 3x by 3x + 2</em>

Is the relation a function?<br><br> Select Yes or No for each relation.
Lina20 [59]
Hello! There are a few things that determine whether or not something is a function. In this case, to determine whether a relation is a function, we look at the domains, which are the x-coordinates, the first number of the pair. If the number occurs in the x-coordinate for more than one pair in a relation, then it's not a function. If a number only occurs as an x-coordinate once in the relation, then it's a function. In other words, they each have only one y-coordinate in the relation. For this question, the first, second, and third relations are functions. The fourth one is not a function, because the 3 has more than one y-coordinate, so it occurs as an x-coordinate more than once. Here are the answers easier to read.

masha68 [24]

Valdez Company opened a special checking account. The charge for each check written was either $.55 or a $6-a-month minimum service charge (whichever is greater). At the beginning of the month, the company checkbook balance was $695.18. Valdez Company wrote 14 checks totaling $312.88. Deposits of $188.10 and $195.10 were made during the month. What's Valdez's checkbook balance to start the next month (including the cost of check writing)?

Find the value of x. Round to the nearest tenth. Please Help Me!!!
levacccp [35]

Answer:

x ≈ 4.1 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The segment from the centre to the chord is a perpendicular bisector

The third side of the triangle = 14.6 ÷ 2 = 7.8

We now have a right triangle with legs x and 7.8 with hypotenuse 8.8

Using Pythagoras' identity on the right triangle.

The square on the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares on the other 2 sides, that is

x² + 7.8² = 8.8²

x² + 60.84 = 77.44 ( subtract 60.84 from both sides )

x² = 16.6 ( take the square root of both sides )

x = \sqrt{16.6} ≈ 4.1 ( nearest tenth )
