Lets check...

42/56 = 56/64
cross multiply
(56)(56) = (42)(64)
3136 = 2688...(incorrect)...these are not proportional

proportions are nothing but equivalent fractions
42/56 = 3/4
56/64 = 7/8
as u can see, they are not equivalent fractions...so they are not proportional

5x + 6y = 16<br> -10x-12y = 25
Doss [256]

Answer:

  no solution

Step-by-step explanation:

There is no solution to this inconsistent system of linear equations. They describe parallel lines.

__

Adding twice the first equation to the second gives ...

  2(5x +6y) +(-10x -12y) = 2(16) +(25)

  0 = 57 . . . . . . . simplify. False

No values of x and y will make this statement true. There is NO SOLUTION to the system of equations.

Which statement compares the two numbers correctly?
Pie

Hey there! We are given two decimal numbers to compare.

52.311 and 52.31

These two numbers are similar except that 52.311 has another 1 in while 51.31 doesn't.

Keep in mind that 52.31 can also refer to 52.310

So we are comparing 52.311 and 52.310

Since 1 is greater than 0.

52.311 is greater than 52.31 (52.311 > 52.31)

Let me know if you have any questions!

~~~~~~ \textit{Simple Interest Earned Amount} \\\\ A=P(1+rt)\qquad \begin{cases} A=\textit{accumulated amount}\dotfill & \$185.30\\ P=\textit{original amount deposited}\dotfill & \$170\\ r=rate\to r\%\to \frac{r}{100}\\ t=years\dotfill &1 \end{cases} \\\\\\ 185.30=170[1+(\frac{r}{100})(1)]\implies \cfrac{185.30}{170}=1+\cfrac{r}{100}\implies \cfrac{109}{100}=\cfrac{100+r}{100} \\\\\\ 109=100+r\implies \stackrel{\%}{9}=r
5000 is 1/10 of what
KatRina [158]
<span>The correct answer is 50,000.
Explanation<span>:
We can set up the equation 5000=1/10x to represent this situation.
To solve, we will divide both sides by 1/10:
5000</span></span>÷<span><span>(1/10) = (1/10x)</span></span>÷<span><span>(1/10)
5000</span></span>÷<span><span>(1/10) = x.
To divide fractions, flip the second one and multiply; this gives us
5000*(10/1) = x
50000 = x.</span></span>
