Some people might be confused while applying the three theorems related to segments in circles. They might not be sure which seg

ments to multiply. What helpful hints would you recommend they use to figure out which segments to multiply for each of the three theorems?

Answer:

1.Intersecting segments theorem

In this scenario, two secant segments intersect each other inside the circle. The relationship is that the product of the segment pieces of one segment is equal to the product of the segment piece of the other.

Hint⇒identify the <u>corresponding segment pieces</u> for multiplication

2.Two secant segments that intersect outside circle

In this scenario the product of the whole secant with its external part is equal to the product of the other whole secant segment with its external part.

Hint ⇒identify the segment pieces <u>outside the circle</u> and the <u>whole segments</u> that include the external parts

3.One secant and one Tangent

In this case, the relation is that the product of whole segment with its external part is equal to square of the tangent segment.

Hint⇒ Identify <u>the tangent segment</u> and <u>the whole secant segment </u>that has an external part.

Hope this Helps.

Before ordering food for a company barbecue the president took a poll. She asked people if they would eat the ribs, hamburgers,
Vinvika [58]

Answer:

The complete question is as shown in the attached figure 1

The Venn diagram is the attached figure 2

Let: R⇒ribs , H⇒hamburgers  and  C⇒corn

People would eat all three = 53

People would eat only R and H = 56 - 53 = 3

People would eat only C and H = 54 - 53 = 1

People would eat only R and C = 55 - 53 = 2

People would eat only H = 60 - (53+3+1) = 60 - 57 = 3

People would eat only R = 59 - (53+3+2) = 59 - 58 = 1

People would eat only C = 56 - (53+1+2) = 0

See Vinn diagram.

=========================================================

a. How many people did not want any of these foods?

people did not want any of these foods = 64 - (53+3+1+2+3+1) = 1

b. How many people would eat ribs but not corn?

people would eat ribs but not corn = 1+3 = 4

c. How many people would eat something as long as it was not a hamburger?

people would eat something as long as it was not a hamburger= 1+2 = 3

d. How many people would eat only corn?

people would eat only corn = 0

e. How many people would eat exactly two foods?

people would eat exactly two foods = 1 + 2 + 1

Find the root(s) of f (x) = (x + 5)3(x - 9)2(x + 1). -5 with multiplicity 3 5 with multiplicity 3 -9
faust18 [17]

Answer:

  -5, multiplicity 3; +9, multiplicity 2; -1

Step-by-step explanation:

The roots of f(x) are those values of x that make the factors be zero. For a factor of x-a, the root is x=a, because a-a=0. If the factor appears n times, then the root has multiplicity n.

f(x) = (x+5)^3(x-9)^2(x+1) has roots ...

  • -5 with multiplicity 3
  • +9 with multiplicity 2
  • -1

Answer:

<h2>p = (rt)/i</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

i=prt\to prt=i\qquad\text{divide both sides by}\ rt\neq0\\\\\dfrac{prt}{rt}=\dfrac{i}{rt}\\\\p=\dfrac{i}{rt}

WITCHER [35]

Answer:

Area = 15.36 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

First find the area of the dotted line triangle using the formula: base x height x 1/2, which would be 1.2ft x 12.8 x 1/2 = 7.68ft.

Next, add another triangle at the top, mirroring the shown triangle, of the parallelogram.

Then, find the area of the shape as though it were a rectangle. (base x height) - 2.4 x 12.8 = 30.72.

Next, multiply the area of the invisible triangle by 2, 7.68 x 2 = 15.36ft

and Finally, subtract the area of the rectangle shape of the the sum of the two invisible triangles, 30.72 - 15.36 = 15.36ft

The area of the parallelogram is 15.36 ft.
