The diver because distance is measured in absolute value so no matter if the value is suppose to be negative distance will always be measured as absolute value. In this case the biggest number is the farthest away.

A teacher gives a test to two algebra classes. The first class has 18 students, and the second has 24 students. If the average f
Morgarella [4.7K]

Answer:

The <em>C)</em> statement is true.

Explanation:

Let's call <em>x_1</em> the average for the first class and <em>x_2 </em>the average for the second class. The overall average <em>x</em> is then:

x=\frac{x_1*18+x_2*24}{18+24}\\x=\frac{84*18+x_2*24}{42}\\x=\frac{1512+x_2*24}{42}

Since the average is given by <em>Average=\frac{Sum of all values}{Amount of values}</em>. We can now calculate <em>x</em> assuming the maximun and minimun values of <em>x_2</em>, 2400 (which is 100 times 24) and 0 respectivly. That gives:

x=\frac{1512+2400}{42}\\x=93

for it's maximun value and

x=\frac{1512+0}{42}\\x=36

for it's minimun value. So we get that <em>x</em> is between 36% and 93%.

In a sample of H2SO4 containing 200 sulfur (S) atoms, how many atoms of hydrogen (H) would there be?
Otrada [13]

In a sample of H2SO4 that contain 200 S atom the number of hydrogen atoms  would be 400  atoms

explanation

there are two moles of H2  in H2SO4 therefore by use of ratio between S:H2 which is 1:2 atoms therefore the atoms of hydrogen = 2 x200 = 400 atoms

A tetrahedral molecule has ___ regions of high electron density around the central atom. these molecules have central atoms with
shtirl [24]
<span>The answer is "A tetrahedral molecule has 4 regions of high electron density around the central atom. These molecules have central atoms with 0 lone pairs and 4 atoms bonded to them." Based on the octet rule, the atom must have 8 electrons to become stable. As a result, the molecule will not have lone pairs.</span>

Devise a temperature scale, abbreviated g, for which the magnitude of the ideal gas constant is 1.00 j g–1 mol–1 .
melisa1 [442]

The value of ideal gas constant (R) in Joule is 8.314 Joule Kelvin^{-1}mol^{-1}. Now the given expression is 1.00 J. gg^{-1}.mole^{-1}. Where the g represent the temperature. Thus the abbreviated g must have the value 8.314 to satisfy the original value. Thus the temperature scale will be 1 kelvin = 8.314 g. Now 1 kelvin  = -272.15°C or in terms of abbreviation of g we can write -272.15 °C = 8.314g, or, 1°C  = (-) \frac{8.314}{272.15}=0.030g. Thus the temperature scale of the g scale is 1 kelvin (K) = 8.314g and 1°C = 0.030 g.
