Which part of chromosomes passes in trait from parent to offspring
AfilCa [17]

Answer:

Genes

Explanation:

The genes are the basic unit of hereditary which are a part of chromosomes that are passed from parents to their offspring.

Genes are responsible for the propagation of hereditary features. They are usually located on the chromosome.

Genes are made up of protein molecules.

Each parent passes down a copy of their gene which are inherited by the offspring and they determine a character state.

They generally make up the genotype.

One mole of a metallic oxide reacts with one mole of hydrogen to produce two moles of the pure metal
aleksley [76]

Answer:

Lithium oxide, Li₂O.

Explanation:

Hello!

In this case, according to the given amounts, it is possible to write down the chemical reaction as shown below:

M_2O+H_2\rightarrow 2M+H_2O

Which means that the metallic oxide has the following formula: M₂O. Next, we can set up the following proportional factors according to the chemical reaction:

Thus, we perform the operations in order to obtain:

\frac{10X}{(2X+16)}=2.32

So we solve for x as shown below:

10X=2.32(2X+16)\\\\10X=4.64X+37.12\\\\X=\frac{37.12}{10-4.64}\\\\X= 6.93g/mol

Whose molar mass corresponds to lithium, and therefore, the metallic oxide is lithium oxide, Li₂O.

Best regards!

Some liquids have enough attractions between molecules to form dimers. (Dimers are molecules formed from the combination of iden
SpyIntel [72]

Answer:

The molar mass would double

Explanation:

This would double the molar mass. Even though this question is about a liquid but we can use an example we see a lot in elements like oxygen, flourine, nitrogen and others whose atomic attractions make them exist as diatomic gases. This is why their molar masses are twice their relative atomic masses (in grams). The same thing would happen here. The molar mass of A would have to double.

Why does a group of warmer atoms take up more volume than a group of cooler atoms?
CaHeK987 [17]
Warmer atoms expand. There is also more movement. This is also explained when putting it into terms with solid vs. gas. In a solid, the atoms vibrate, but they can't move very far because there is not a lot of space between them. In a gas, on the other hand, the atoms are spread apart, and they move very fast. Putting it into context with water, the steam (gas) version is hot, and the ice cube (solid) version is cold. Which one moves more freely? The gas.
