Placenta is required by the animals who give birth to the young one because the developing embryo gets attached to the uterus lining of the mother through the placenta. This placenta helps the embryo to get nutrition from the mother's body.

Birds do not give birth to young rather they lay eggs which do need to be attached to the uterus lining. The eggs of birds contain egg yolk which provide essential nutrients to the developing embryo. Therefore as birds do not produce babies directly therefore they do not develop placenta.

Not too sure. If this is just for an opinion, then I'd personally get new group members because your job is to help people instead of degrade them for things they don't have control over. 

But if it's for an assignment, then I'd still say the same, but it's asking you what you'd do in the situation where you have a counseling program and your group members have been saying bad things about AIDS and the gay community but you're not sure about whether the group will work out or not.
