Rainfall is measured as depth on the surface of the Earth, typically in mm. We know the volume of water in the rain gauge: 1414 cubic centimetres. We know need to know the area of the Earth that this volume fell on. This would be the area of the funnel opening that points up to the sky to catch the rain. We know the diameter is 24 cm. So we need to determine the area of a circle with a diameter of 24 cm. The equation to use is: area = pi * radius^2. Since the radius of a circle is half the diameter, the equation is:

So area is 3.14159 * 12^2

= 452.39 cm^2
Volume = depth * area
depth = volume/area
depth = 1414/452.39
= 3.13 cm = 31.3 mm

Blood pressure decreases and a body system responds in a way that causes the blood pressure to decrease even more. Which of the
Ray Of Light [21]

C. Positive Feedback

This is because a response to a stimulus( low blood pressure) acts in the same direction as the stimulus ( even lower blood pressure).

This is opposed to negative feedback where the response would go in the operate direction of the stimulus ( I.e. blood pressure increasing in response to low blood pressure)

Scoliosis is a defect which is as a result of the spine being imbalanced and developing into an S- or C-shaped curve.

The spine is usually curved in an uncharacteristic manner and is commonly found in people with cerebral palsy.

Treatment involves surgical operations or the use of braces to fix the spines back to their original positions.

Answer:

The stretch of DNA transcribedinto an RNA molecule is called atranscription unit and encodes at least one gene. If the gene encodes a protein, thetranscription producesmessenger RNA (mRNA); the mRNA, in turn, serves as a template for the protein's synthesis through translation.

A new nucleotide can only be added to the _____ end of a growing dna strand. dna therefore always grows in the _____ direction.
PilotLPTM [1.2K]

A new nucleotide can only be added to the 3' end of a growing dna strand. dna therefore always grows in the 5' to 3' direction.

Define nucleotide.

Nucleotides are organic molecules made up of a phosphate and a nucleoside. They serve as monomeric units of the essential biomolecules found in all life forms on Earth, deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA) and ribonucleic acid polymers.

Define DNA.

Deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA) is a polymer made of two polynucleotide chains that coil around one another to form a double helix and which contains the genetic material necessary for all known creatures, including many viruses, to develop, function, grow, and reproduce. Nucleic acids include DNA and ribonucleic acid.
