Technically, 3.5 is already a sum for different math problems. If there is more to the question then we can't answer until we know the rest.

5. Given the following triangle side lengths, identify the triangle as acute, right or obtuse. Show your work.
Roman55 [17]
Refer to the figure shown below.
We shall review each of the three given measurements and decide what type of triangle we have.

Measurement a.
a=3, b=4, c=5.
For a right triangle, c² = a² + b² (Pythagorean theorem)
a² + b² = 3² + 4² = 9 + 16 = 25
c² = 5² = 25
Answer:
This is a right triangle, because c² = a² + b².

Measurement b.
a=5, b=6, c=7.
For an acute triangle, c² < a² + b².
a² + b² = 5² + 6² = 25 + 36 = 61
c² = 7² = 49
Answer:
This is an acute triangle, because c² < a² + b².

Measurement c.
a=8, b=9, c=12.
For an obtuse triangle, c² > a² + b².
a² + b² = 8² + 9² = 64 + 81 = 145
c² = 12² = 144
Answer:
This is an acute triangle because c² < a² + b².

Nathan has three pieces of wood the first is 9.8 feet in length the second is 7.5 feet in length and the third is 12 feet in len
snow_tiger [21]
9.4 Ft for the first one

7.5 Ft for the second piece

12 Ft for the Third

he uses 5.2 Ft from the first piece of wood so 9.4 - 5.2= 4.6ft
he uses 6.1 ft from the second piece of wood , 7.5 - 6.1 = 1.4 ft
Nathan didnt use any of the 3rd piece of wood , so he still have 12 Feet of wood remaining so, 12+4.6+1.4 = 18 feet of wood left that he didnt use.
