I believe the variable d equals 13. Since the rule is x-6=y. So you just incorporate 7, since 7=y the equation now will look like x-6=7. Now you just solve it. X=13 other known as d=13.

Graph the line with slope 1/4 and y-intercept -8
kherson [118]

Solution: Below! ^^

Detailed explanation:

Hii! I'm sorry, I can't graph the line for you, but I'll try to give you the best possible explanation.

First, note that the question provides us with the info that the y intercept is -8. This is a very valuable piece of information!

This means that the line crosses the y axis (since it's the y intercept) at the point (0,-8). Plot it on the co-ordinate plane.

Next, this question also provides us with the fact that the slope of the line is 1/4. This is yet another valuable piece of information!

What this tells us is: from that point (0,-8), you need to go up 1 unit, then over 4, and so forth, until you obtain a line.

Hope I helped, best wishes & happy studies!

Please reach out to me if any queries arise.

Use the approach in Gauss's Problem to find the following sums of arithmetic sequences.
Svet_ta [14]

The total value of the sequence is mathematically given as

498501

The sum of the sequence is..?

Generally, the equation for Gauss's Problem is mathematically given as

The sum of an arithmetic series;

1+2+3+...+n= n(n+1)/2

Given an arithmetic sequence,

1+2+3+...+998,

Here,

n = 998

1+2+3+...+n=n(n+1)/2

1+2+3+...+998=98(998 + 1)/2

998 x 999 1+2+3+...+998 =2

1+2+3+...+998 = 498501

In conclusion, 498501 is the total value of the sequence.

A statue stands on a 625 m2 base. An artist creates a replica using a ratio of 1:10 What is the area of the replica's base?
DedPeter [7]

The new area of the given replica's base is; 6250 m²

What is the required area?

We are given;

Area of base of statue = 625 m²

Now, an artist wants to create a replica of the base of statue but in the ratio 1:10.

This means that the area will increase by a factor of 10 as 1 sq.unit of the old area will represent 10 sq. units in the new one.

Thus, new area = 625 * 10

New area of statue = 6250 m²
