Answer:

722.89

Explanation:

mass=24000kg

volume=33•2

density=?

now,

density=mass/volume

=24000/33•2

=722•89

density=722•89 kg/m^3

A basketball player standing under the hoop shoots the ball straight up with an initial velocity of v0Part (a) What is the maxim
Mama L [17]

Answer:

Maximum height will be h=\sqrt{\frac{v_0^2}{2g}}

Explanation:

We have given initial velocity through which basketball is thrown =v_0

Acceleration due to gravity =g\ m/sec^2

At maximum height velocity will be zero

So final velocity v = 0 m /sec

According to third equation of motion v^2=u^2+2gh

0^2=v_0^2-2gh ( Negative sign is due to upward acceleration )

h=\sqrt{\frac{v_0^2}{2g}}

The diagram shows a heat engine. In which area of the diagram is unusable thermal energy detected?
Marat540 [252]
Nope, I disagree with the former answer. The answer is definitely Z. <u>W area</u> (boxed with red outline) is represented as the hot reservoir while <u>Z area</u> is the cold reservoir (boxed with blue outline). X area is the heat engine itself and Y area is the work produced from thermal energy from hot reservoir. Typically, all heat engines lose some heat to the environment (based from the second law of thermodynamics) that is symbolically illustrated by the lost energy in the cold reservoir. This lost thermal energy is basically the unusable thermal energy. The higher thermal energy lost, the less efficient your heat engine is.

Consider a roller coaster begins 15m above the ground. If the cart has a mass of 75kg, what is the velocity of the cart halfway
SashulF [63]

Answer:

v = 12.12 m/s

Explanation:

Given that,

The mass of the cart, m = 75 kg

The roller coaster begins 15 m above the ground.

We need to find the velocity of the cart halfway to the ground. Let the velocity be v. Using the conservation of energy at this position, h = 15/2 = 7.5 m

mgh=\dfrac{1}{2}mv^2\\\\v=\sqrt{2gh} \\\\v=\sqrt{2\times 9.8\times 7.5} \\\\v=12.12\ m/s

So, the velocity of the cart is 12.12 m/s.
