If a bird claps its wings it moves air arround creating a pressure diffrence.
The air will then try to move back up lifting the bird up.
The wind presses him up, this is called lift

A toaster oven draws 300.0 watts of power. If it is plugged into an outlet with a voltage of 115 volts, what current is in the t
Alex73 [517]

Answer:

I = 2.61 A

Explanation:

It is given that,

Power of a toaster is 300 watts

It is plugged into an outlet with a voltage of 115 volts

We need to find the current in the toaster's circuit.

The electrical power is given by the formula as follows :

P = V I

I is electric current

I=\dfrac{P}{V}\\\\I=\dfrac{300}{115}\\\\I=2.61\ A

So, 2.61 A of current is in the toaster's circuit.

What is the difference between a mineral and a rock
Sedbober [7]

A mineral is a naturally occurring, inorganic solid with a definite chemical composition and a crystalline structure formed by geological processes.

A rock is an aggregate of one or more minerals. It may also contain organic remains and mineraloids apart from regular mineral formations. Since rocks vary in their mineral and chemical composition, they are classified according to the process of their formation.

A 90 kg person stands at the edge of a stationary children's merry-go-round at a distance of 5.0 m from its center. The person s
Paraphin [41]

Answer:

\omega = 0.016\,\frac{rad}{s}

Explanation:

The rotation rate of the man is:

\omega = \frac{v}{R}

\omega = \frac{0.80\,\frac{m}{s} }{5\,m}

\omega = 0.16\,\frac{rad}{s}

The resultant rotation rate of the system is computed from the Principle of Angular Momentum Conservation:

(90\,kg)\cdot (5\,m)^{2}\cdot (0.16\,\frac{rad}{s} ) = [(90\,kg)\cdot (5\,m)^{2}+20000\,kg\cdot m^{2}]\cdot \omega

The final angular speed is:

\omega = 0.016\,\frac{rad}{s}

A copper wire has a radius of 3.5 mm. When forces of a certain equal magnitude but opposite directions are applied to the ends o
denpristay [2]

Answer:

The tensile stress on the wire is 550 MPa.

Explanation:

Given;

Radius of copper wire, R = 3.5 mm

extension of the copper wire, e =  5.0×10⁻³ L

L is the original length of the copper wire,

Young's modulus for copper, Y =  11×10¹⁰Pa.

Young's modulus, Y is given as the ratio of tensile stress to tensile strain, measured in the same unit as Young's modulus.

Y =\frac{Tensile \ stress}{Tensile \ strain} \\\\Tensile \ stress = Y*Tensile \ strain\\\\But, Tensile \ strain = \frac{extension}{original \ Length} = \frac{5.0*10^{-3} L}{L} = 5.0*10^{-3}\\\\Tensile \ stress = 11*10^{10} *5.0*10^{-3} \ = 550*10^6 \ Pa

Therefore, the tensile stress on the wire is 550 MPa.
