In their chemical formula, Calcium Nitrate is Ca(NO₃)₂ while Sodium Hydroxide is NaOH. The reaction between the two are:

Ca(NO₃)₂ + 2 NaOH → Ca(OH)₂ + 2 NaNO₃

As you can see, this is a double replacement reaction. Focusing on the products, in an aqueous solution, NaNO₃ will dissolve in water because all nitrates are soluble. Ca(OH)₂ is insoluble in water so this is the solid that precipitates.

If an acid has a Ka of 4.3 × 10-7 and a base has a Kb of 5.6 × 10-4, then what will be true about the salt produced? A. The salt
blsea [12.9K]

If an acid has a Ka of 4.3 × 10-⁷ and a base has a Kb of 5.6 × 10-⁴, then the true statement about the salt produced is that the salt would decrease the pH of the solution.

What is acid and base constant?

An acid dissociation constant, Kₐ, is a quantitative measure of the strength of an acid in solution while Kb indicates the high level of dissociation of a strong base.

According to this question, an acid has a Ka of 4.3 × 10-⁷ and a base has a Kb of 5.6 × 10-⁴. This shows that the strength of the base is higher than that of the acid.

Therefore, if an acid has a Ka of 4.3 × 10-⁷ and a base has a Kb of 5.6 × 10-⁴, then the true statement about the salt produced is that the salt would decrease the pH of the solution.

It has been established that 8.0x10^4 tons of gold (Au) have been mined. Assume gold cost $350 per ounce. Whats the total worth
bazaltina [42]
So first lets find out how much gold there is. 10^4=10,000so that means 8.0x10,000= 8,000. now we have to find out how much money that is. All we have to do is multiply 8,000 by 350. When multiplied you get $2,800,000

When two carbon atoms are joined by a double bond, how many electron pairs are shared between the two carbons
NikAS [45]

Answer:

Two (2) electron pairs

Explanation:

The sharing of electron pairs by atoms forms a type of bond called COVALENT bond. Atoms that form covalent bonding (share electrons) do so in order to fill their outermost electron shells, hence, gain chemical stability.

However, when two atoms like carbon share TWO PAIRS of electrons with each other, a DOUBLE BOND is formed. An example is the double bond formed in Ethylene (2HC=CH2). A total of four valence electrons (a pair from each carbon) are shared between the two carbon atoms.
