Answer:

Explanation:

given,

time taken to complete the each orbit = 144 minutes

                      t = 144 x 60 = 8640 s

mass of the earth = 5.98 x 10²⁴ Kg

radius of earth,R = 6.38 x 10⁶ m

Using Kepler's 3rd law

T^2 = (\dfrac{4\pi^2}{GM_e})r^3

r = (\dfrac{T^2GM_e}{4\pi^2})^{1/3}

r = (\dfrac{8640^2\times 6.67 \times 10^{-11}\times 5.98\times 10^{24}}{4\pi^2})^{1/3}

r = 9.1 x 10⁶ m

the altitude of the satellite

H = r - R

H =  9.1 x 10⁶  - 6.38 x 10⁶

H = 2.72 x 10⁶ m

Which order shows increasing energy of photons?
Alchen [17]

The correct answer is C. microwaves, infrared, visible, gamma rays

Electromagnetic waves arranged in order of  frequencies and wavelengths form the electromagnetic spectrum. In the order of decreasing frequency we obtain the following sequence.

Gamma ray>x-ray>ultraviolet >visible light>infrared light>microwaves>radio waves.

According to the Einsteins equation, E=hf, Energy is  directly proportional to frequency. the higher the frequency the higher the energy of the photon and vice-versa.

What is one of the drawbacks to the use of solar energy for generating electricity?
-Dominant- [34]
Solar energy is one of the renewable energy sources that is invested around the world because of its large potential. the sun as a free source can sometimes bring a drawback. one of the drawbacks is that it cannot be harnessed when storms or rains are present in the weather. it is also expensive and young.

When you increase the temperature of an exothermic reaction the equilibrium will shift?
Colt1911 [192]

Answer : When we increase the temperature of an exothermic reaction the equilibrium will shift to the left direction i.e, towards the reactant.

Explanation :

Le-Chatelier's principle : This principle states that if any change in the variables of the reaction, the equilibrium will shift in the direction to minimize the effect.

As the given reaction is an exothermic reaction in which the heat is released during a chemical reaction. That means the temperature is decreased on the reactant side.

For an exothermic reaction, heat is released during a chemical reaction and is written on the product side.

A\rightleftharpoons B+\text{ heat}

If the temperature is increases in the equilibrium then the equilibrium will shift in the direction where, temperature is getting decreased. Thus, the reaction will shift to the left direction i.e, towards the reactant.

Hence, when we increase the temperature of an exothermic reaction the equilibrium will shift to the left direction i.e, towards the reactant.

A parallel-plate capacitor is made from two aluminum-foil sheets, each 5.9 cm wide and 5.6 m long. Between the sheets is a Teflo
Zarrin [17]

Answer:

1.98 x 10⁻⁷ F

Explanation:

w = width of the sheet = 5.9 cm = 0.059 m

L = length of the sheet = 5.6 m

Area of the sheet is given as

A = L w = (5.6) (0.059) = 0.3304 m²

d = distance between the sheets = 3.1 x 10⁻⁵ m

k = dielectric constant of teflon = 2.1

Capacitance is given as

C = \frac{k\epsilon _{o}A}{d}

C = \frac{(2.1)(8.85\times 10^{-12})(0.3304)}{3.1\times 10^{-5}}

C = 1.98 x 10⁻⁷ F

You will begin with a relatively standard calculation.Consider a concave spherical mirror with a radius of curvature equal to 60
Strike441 [17]

a) 30.0 cm

For any mirror, the radius of curvature is twice the focal length:

r = 2f

where

r is the radius of curvature

f is the focal length

For the mirror in this problem, we have

r = 60.0 cm is the radius of curvature

Therefore, solving the equation above for f, we find its focal length:

f=\frac{r}{2}=\frac{60.0 cm}{2}=30.0 cm

b) 90 cm

The mirror equation is:

\frac{1}{s'}=\frac{1}{f}-\frac{1}{s}

where

s' is the distance of the image from the mirror

f is the focal length

s is the distance of the object from the mirror

For the situation in the problem, we have

f = +30.0 cm is the focal length (positive for a concave mirror)

s = 45.0 cm is the object distance from the mirror

Solving the formula for s', we find

\frac{1}{s'}=\frac{1}{30.0 cm}-\frac{1}{45.0 cm}=0.011 cm^{-1}

s'=\frac{1}{0.011 cm^{-1}}=90 cm

c) -2

The magnification of the mirror is given by

M=-\frac{s'}{s}

where in this problem we have

s' = 90 cm is the image distance

s = 45.0 cm is the object distance

Solving the equation, we find:

M=-\frac{90 cm}{45 cm}=-2

So, the magnification is -2.

d) -12.0 cm

The magnification can also be rewritten as

M=\frac{y'}{y}

where

y' is the height of the image

y is the heigth of the object

In this problem, we know

y = 6.0 cm is the height of the object

M = -2 is the magnification

Solving the equation for y', we find

y'=My=(-2)(6.0 cm)=-12.0 cm

and the negative sign means that the image is inverted.

Part e and f are exactly identical as part b) and c).
