I put the information into this equation 5+0.65x=10+0.45x

I solved the equation by first subtracting the 0.45x from both sides to get the variable on one side. I was left with 5+0.20x=10. Then I subtracted the 5 from both sides and got 0.20x=5. Finally I divided both sides by 0.20 to get the X by itself and got X=25

For the members of a neighborhood meeting group, the probability of randomly selecting a member who likes to cook is 42%, the pr
Monica [59]

Answer: Probability of randomly selecting a member who likes to cook or likes to sew = 58%

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Probability of a randomly selecting a member who likes to cook=P(C) = 42%

Probability of a randomly selecting a member who likes to sew =P(S)= 23%

Probability of a randomly selecting a member who likes to both cook and sew

P(C\cap S)=7\%

As we know the "Probability rules " :

P(C\cup S)=P(C)+P(S)-P(S\cap C)\\\\P(C\cup S)=42+23-7\\\\P(C\cup S)=58

So, Probability of randomly selecting a member who likes to cook or likes to sew = 58%

The circumference of ruby's old swimming pool is 47.1 feet. Her new swimming pool has a diameter of 21 feet. How much larger is
Alla [95]

The new pool is 18.84 feet larger in circumference than the old one.

<u>Explanation:</u>

Given:

Circumference of the pool = 47.1 feet

Diameter of the new pool, d = 21 feet

radius, r = 21/2 feet

Circumference of the new pool = ?

We know:

Circumference = 2πr

where,

r is the radius

On substituting the value:

C = 2 X 3.14 X \frac{21}{2}

C = 65.94 feet

The difference in circumference of the two pools = 65.94 - 47.1 feet

                                                                                  = 18.84 feet

Therefore, the new pool is 18.84 feet larger in circumference than the old one.
