The answer would be ten.
The Pythagorean theorem is a squared plus b squared equals c.
c would equal the hypotenuse.
b is the opposite.
a is the adjacent.
you would do 24 squared plus x squared = 26 squared
after you square 24 and 26
576+x=676
-576.    -576
-----------------
x=100
square root it to get
x=10
d is your answer

A²+b²=c²
24²+b²=26²
576+b²=676²
676-576=100
b²=100
Then you square root 100.
b=10
Your answer is 10!

Hope that helps! :D

Find four consecutive even integers whose sum is 84. Find the integers.
mina [271]
Suppose the integers are n , n+2 , n+4 and n+6.
84=n+(n+2)+(n+4)+(n+6)=4n+12.
Subtract 12 from both ends to get.
72=4n.
Divide both ends by 4 to get.
n=18.
So the integers are: 18 , 20 , 22 , 24.
