You are asked to find a set of dimensionless parameters to organize data from a laboratory experiment, in which a tank is draine
mihalych1998 [28]

Answer:

Step 1

Given: A tank is drained through an orifice from initial liquid level (h₀). The time(r), to  drain the tank, depends on tank diameter (D), orifice diameter (d), acceleration due to gravity (g), liquid density (ρ) and liquid viscosity  (μ).

r = f (h₀, D, d, g, ρ, μ)

Step 2

There are totally seven parameters r, h₀, D, d, g, ρ and μ

∴ n = 7

The primary variables are M, L, T

∴ m = 3

So, the number of repeating variables are, r = 3

Select the three repeating variables are ρ, d, g

Then according to Buckingham, there will be n-m (⇒ 7-3 = 4) dimensionless groups given by π₁, π₂, π₃ and π₄

So, The number of π terms = 4

Which has a larger resistance, a 60 W lightbulb or a 100 W lightbulb? Which has a larger resistance, a 60 W lightbulb or a 100 W
Luba_88 [7]

You really can't tell.

Power = I^2 × R = V^2 / R ( unit in Watt)

For P = I^2 × R

Where we have P directly proportional to R, increase in Power leads to increase in R

So if we have 100 will have higher resistance

For P = V^2/R

Power is inversely proportional to resistance.

So increase in Power leads to decrease in resistance.

60 watt will have a higher resistance.

A person stands between two speakers driven by the same source. Each speaker produces a tone with a frequency of 200 Hz on a day
MissTica

Answer:

The type of interference the person perceives is a Constructive Interference

Explanation:

Before we solve the problem we need to clarify some concepts:

There are two types of Interference, the Constructive and the Destructive interference

The Constructive Interference happens if the difference between the waves movement is equal to an even semi-wavelength number

The Destructive Interference is the opposite than the Constructive Interference, it happens if the difference between the waves movement is equal to an odd semi-wavelength number

Taking the above into account let´s proceed to solve the problem.

First, we will need to find how much the wavelength is (we will call it l), we know the frequency f=200Hz, we also know the speed of sound is v=330m/s. We will use the next equation:

l=v/f then we get that l=1.65m

In order to find the semi-wavelength we must divide by 2 the previous result, in this case the semi-wavelength will be:

l/2=0.825m

Now, we find the difference between the waves movement, which is the difference between both distances, this difference will be called d and we will find it this way:

d=4.95m-1.65m then d=3.3m

After this, we will do a relation between the distance and the semi-wavelength in order to find what type of interference the person perceives, this way:

(d)/(l/2) then, we have a relation equals to 4. As it´s an even number, we determine the interference is a Constructive Interference

A rock is thrown downward from a height of 207 m with an initial velocity of 5.37 m/s. Approximately how fast will it it be movi
Zolol [24]

List the known information:

x_0=207 \text{ m}\\v_0=-5.37 \text{ m/s}\\t=3.03 \text{ s}\\a=-g=-9.8 \text{ m/s}^2

Use the kinematic equation v=v_0+at.

Plug in the given values:

v=-5.37 \text{ m/s}+(-9.8 \text{ m/s}^2)(3.03 \text{ s})=-35.064 \text{ m/s}

This would be 35.064 m/s downward, or 35 m/s downward with significant figures taken into account.
