It's just asking you to sit down and COUNT the little squares in each sector.

It'll help you keep everything straight if you take a very sharp pencil and make a tiny dot in each square as you count it.  That way, you'll be able to see which ones you haven't counted yet, and also you won't count a square twice when you see that it already has a dot in it.

(If, by some chance, this is a picture of the orbit of a planet revolving around the sun ... as I think it might be ... then you should find that both sectors jhave the same number of squares.)

An 3.7 lb hammer head, traveling at 5.8 ft/s strikes a nail and is brought to a stop in 0.00068 s. The acceleration of gravity i
CaHeK987 [17]

Answer:

31677.2 lb

Explanation:

mass of hammer (m) = 3.7 lb

initial velocity (u) = 5.8 ft/s

final velocity (v) = 0

time (t) = 0.00068 s

acceleration due to gravity (g) 32 ft/s^{2}

force = m x ( a + g )

where

  • m is the mass = 3.7 lb
  • g is the acceleration due to gravity = 32 ft/s^{2}
  • a is the acceleration of the hammer

       from v = u + at

       a = (v-u)/ t

       a = (0-5.8)/0.00068 = -8529.4 ( the negative sign showa the its decelerating)

we can substitute all required values into force= m x (a+g)

force = 3.7 x (8529.4 + 32) = 31677.2 lb

A magnetically soft material is placed in a strong magnetic feild. what is the most likely outcome?
myrzilka [38]
So we want to know what will happen if we put a magnetically soft material in a strong magnetic field. A magnetically soft material is a material whose magnetic field can easily be reversed. Those are ferromagnetic materials. Iron is such a material. When a magnetically soft material is placed into a strong magnetic field it gets its own magnetic field. But its not a permanent magnetic field, it can be changed by a different strong magnetic field.
