Momentum is a measure of the
of an object.
Which term accurately completes the sentence?
RideAnS [48]

Answer:

Momentum is define as the product of the mass and velocity of a body. It is measured in Kgm/s.

Explanation:

Momentum is the product of mass and velocity of an object. When an object or a body of mass 'm' is moving with velocity 'v', then its momentum can be determined as;

momentum (P) = mass × velocity

i.e            P = m × v

                  = mv

It is measured in Kgm/s.

The change in momentum of a body is referred to as its impulse (Ft).

ΔP = m(v - u) = Ft

Where: P is the momentum of the object, m is its mass, v is its final velocity, u is the initial velocity, F is the force and t is the time in which the force acts.

notka56 [123]

The distance x will the ball land after flies off with a horizontal initial velocity is 3.0635 m.

What is mechanical energy?

The mechanical energy is the sum of kinetic energy and the potential energy of an object at any instant of time.

M.E = KE +PE

A small metal ball with a mass of m = 62.0 g is attached to a string of length l = 1.85 m. It is held at an angle of θ = 48.5° with respect to the vertical.

The ball is then released. When the rope is vertical, the ball collides head-on and perfectly elastically with an identical ball originally at rest. This second ball flies off with a horizontal initial velocity from a height of h = 3.76 m, and then later it hits the ground.

The conservation of energy principle states that total mechanical energy remains conserved in all situations where there is no external force acting on the system.

Kinetic energy  = Potential energy

1/2 mv² =mgh₁

The velocity at the bottom, when the height h = 5m, is

v= √2gh₁...................(1)

The vertical height h₁ = l- lcosθ

h₁ = l- lcosθ

h₁ = 1.85 - 1.85cos48.5°

h₁ =0.6241 m

Putting the values in equation (1), we get

v = √2x 9.81 x0.6241

v = 3.499 m/s

The horizontal distance traveled is

x = vt

x = v x √2h/g

Plug the values, we get

x =  3.499 x √2x3.76 / 9.81

x = 3.0635 m

Thus, the horizontal distance ball travels is 3.0635 m.

In a thunderstorm, the thunder occurs at the same time as lightning. Explain how does a person hears the thunder 5s after he see
sergey [27]

Answer:

If you count the number of seconds between the flash of lightning and the sound of thunder, and then divide by 5, you'll get the distance in miles to the lightning: 5 seconds = 1 mile, 15 seconds = 3 miles, 0 seconds = very close. Keep in mind that you should be in a safe place while counting.

the roque requried to turn the crank on an ice cream maker is 4.50 N.m how much work does it take to turn the crank through 300
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

the work required to turn the crank at the given revolutions is 8,483.4 J

Explanation:

Given;

torque required to turn the crank, T = 4.50 N.m

number of revolutions, = 300 turns

The work required to turn the crank is given as;

W = 2πT

W = 2 x 3.142 x 4.5

W = 28.278 J

1 revolution = 28.278 J

300 revlotions = ?

= 300 x 28.278 J

= 8,483.4 J

Therefore, the work required to turn the crank at the given revolutions is 8,483.4 J
