Explanation:

3). A chemical formula is defined as symbolic representation of a molecule or compound.

The number present as a subscript in a chemical formula depicts the number of atoms of each element present in the compound and the ratio in which they are combining.

For example, chemical formula of phosphorous tetraoxide is PO_{4}.

Therefore, the chemical formula of a compound does NOT indicate how elements are joined in the compound.

4). A chemical reactant is defined as a specie present on the left side of a chemical reaction equation. Whereas a product is a specie that is written on the right side of a chemical reaction equation.

For example, C_{12}H_{22}O_{11}(s) + 12O_{2}(g) \rightarrow 12CO_{2}(g) + 11H_{2}O(g)

Therefore, in the chemical reaction in which sucrose is heated and decomposes to form carbon dioxide and water, sucrose is a reactant.

5). A change that does not bring any difference in chemical composition of a substance are known as physical change.

For example, shape, size, mass, volume, density, etc of a substance are all physical changes.

And, a change which brings difference in chemical composition of a substance is known as chemical change.

For example, precipitation, reactivity, toxicity etc are chemical changes.

Therefore, fermenting of cheese is a chemical change and NOT a physical change.

6). Decay of wood is a chemical process because in this process fungus or any other specie tends to digest moist wood. As a result, the wood gets rotten and a change in its chemical composition occur.

Therefore, a chemical change occurs when a piece of wood decays.

7). As chemical composition of a substance changes in a chemical change. This may bring changes like formation of a gas, precipitate formation, endothermic or exothermic process etc.

Whereas fracture information is a physical change because it only brings change in shape of the substance.

Hence, fracture formation does NOT indicate that a chemical change may have taken place.

8). According to law of conservation of matter, matter can neither be created nor it can be destroyed. It can only be changed from one form to another.

Therefore, during a chemical reaction matter is neither destroyed or created.

En el enlace covalente entre azufre y carbono (6 y 4 electrones en su ultima capa respectivamente) la molécula tendrá ?
d1i1m1o1n [39]

Answer:

When the following redox equation is balanced with smallest whole number coefficients, the coefficient for nitrogen dioxide will
Phoenix [80]

In a redox reaction, electron could be lost or gained. The coefficients in the balanced redox reaction are; 1/2, 5, 1, 5, 2, 1.

What is a redox reaction equation?

A redox reaction equation shows the species that were oxidized or reduced in a redox reaction. In this case, we are asked for the coefficients in a balanced redox reaction equation.

We must recall that five electrons were lost/gained in the process hence the balanced reaction equation is;

1/2I2 + 5HNO3 -----> IO3^- + 5NO2 + 2H2O + H^+

The coefficients in the balanced equation therefore are; 1/2, 5, 1, 5, 2, 1.

1. Write the molecular equation, ionic equation, and net ionic equation for the reaction between calcium chloride and ammonium p
aalyn [17]

Answer:

(molecular) 3 CaCl₂(aq) + 2 (NH₄)₃PO₄(aq) ⇄ Ca₃(PO₄)₂(s) + 6 NH₄Cl(aq)

(ionic) 3 Ca²⁺(aq) + 6 Cl⁻(aq) + 6 NH₄⁺(aq) + 2 PO₄³⁻(aq) ⇄ Ca₃(PO₄)₂(s) + 6 NH₄⁺(aq) + 6 Cl⁻(aq)

(net ionic) 3 Ca²⁺(aq) + 2 PO₄³⁻(aq) ⇄ Ca₃(PO₄)₂(s)

Explanation:

The molecular equation includes al the species in the molecular form.

3 CaCl₂(aq) + 2 (NH₄)₃PO₄(aq) ⇄ Ca₃(PO₄)₂(s) + 6 NH₄Cl(aq)

The ionic equation includes all the ions (species that dissociate in water) and the species that do not dissociate in water.

3 Ca²⁺(aq) + 6 Cl⁻(aq) + 6 NH₄⁺(aq) + 2 PO₄³⁻(aq) ⇄ Ca₃(PO₄)₂(s) + 6 NH₄⁺(aq) + 6 Cl⁻(aq)

The net ionic equation includes only the ions that participate in the reaction and the species that do not dissociate in water. In does not include spectator ions.

3 Ca²⁺(aq) + 2 PO₄³⁻(aq) ⇄ Ca₃(PO₄)₂(s)
