Stratosphere is THE LAYER OF ATMOSPHERE THAT PROTECTS US because it contains OZONE. Ozone is also a layer that protects us from the direct rays/ UV RAYS of the SUN

It is false. The atmosphere is the layer that protects the earth from solar rays and not the geosphere.

There are four major subsystems that made up the earth. The subsystems are also referred to as “spheres of the earth”. The four subsystems are:

  • geosphere
  • atmosphere
  • hydrosphere
  • biosphere

Further Explanation

In all of the four major subsystems, the atmosphere is a layer that surrounds the earth and protects us from the solar system. It is mixture of gases that gets thinner till it reaches the space.

The atmosphere is made of nitrogen (78%), oxygen (21%) and other gases (1%). All the energy from the sun gets to the atmosphere and all the x-rays are also absorbed high in the atmosphere.

There are five layers of the earth atmosphere and each of the layers is different from each other because of their various characteristics. The five layers include:

  • Exosphere
  • Troposphere
  • Thermosphere
  • Stratosphere
  • Mesosphere

The mesosphere, stratosphere and thermosphere are the layers that block most of the energy UV radiations. They absolved harmful rays from the sun.

The first layer is the troposphere and it is above the earth surface. It also contains half of the earth atmosphere.

Exosphere is the upper limit of the earth atmosphere. It is basically the region where molecules and atoms escape into the space.

You measure a watch's hour and minute hands to be 7.4 mm and 12.1 mm long, respectively. Part A In one day, by how much does the
pychu [463]

Answer:

109.385m

Explanation:

In 1 day, the hour hand travels 2 circles, or 4π rad in angular. The distance it travels is its angle times the radius

7.4 * 4π = 93 mm

In 1 day, the minute hand travels 24*60 = 1440 circles, or 1440 * 2π = 2880π rad in angular. The distance it travels is

12.1 * 2880π = 109478 mm

So the distance traveled by the tip of the minute hand that exceed the distance traveled by the tip of the hour hand is

109478 - 93 = 109385 mm or 109.385 m

After crossing the finish line, a race car slows down from 47 m/s to 32m/s in 3seconds. What is the car’s acceleration?
Lisa [10]

Answer: -5 m/s^2

Explanation: a = v - u/t

                         = 32 - 47/3

                         = -15/3

                         = -5 m/s^2
