Answer:

0.9 g of CO will be produced.

Explanation:

A diamond is formed of C atoms. When it is burned, it undergoes a combustion reaction. If the product is CO the combustion is incomplete. The reaction is:

C(s) + 0.5 O₂(g) ⇄ CO(g)

A carat is a unit of weight for diamonds where 1 ct = 200 mg. So, we have 2 ct = 400 mg = 0.4 g of carbon.

In the balanced equation we can see that when 12 grams of C are burned, 28 grams of CO are formed. This is the stoichiometric relationship that we will use to find out the amount of CO formed when 0.4 g of carbon are burned:

0.4gC.\frac{28gCO}{12gC} =0.9gCO

How many molecules are in 1 mole of H2O
Olegator [25]

Answer:

A mole (mol) is the amount of a substance that contains 6.02 × 10 23 representative particles of that substance. The mole is the SI unit for the amount of a substance. There are, therefore, 6.02 × 10 23 water molecules in a mole of water molecules. Water (H2O) is made from 2 atoms of hydrogen and 1 atom of oxygen.

In the molecular orbital model of cyclobutadiene, how many -antibonding molecular orbitals are there?
Citrus2011 [14]

There are one antibonding molecular orbitals present in molecular orbital model of c.

The cyclobutadiene has a pi system comprised of four individual atomic p - orbital and thus should have a four pi molecular orbitals. The compound is the prototypical antiaromatic hydrocarbon with 4 \pi - electrons . Its rectangular structure is the result of jahn teller reaction which disorder the molecule and lowers its symmetry , converting the triplet to a singlet ground state. It is a small annulene . The delocalisation energy of the \pi electrons of the cyclobutene is predicted to be zero .
