So, this is a systems of equations questions and it asks us to answer using the substitution method. First rewrite the equations. I’ll provide an image of my work with accompanying explanations:

Step 2: You will need to choose any equation to isolate the variable from preferably the equation with a variable that isn’t connected to a coefficient. So I chose the first one. To isolate X add 2y to -2y to cancel it out. And the rule what u do to one side you do to the other applies so on the right side add 2y as well. So X equals 6 + 2y.

Step 3: substitute X in the OTHER EQUATION with 6+2y. After that distribute 5 into 6 and 2y. Get rid of 30 and combine your like terms. Divide by 7 to get rid of the coefficient to isolate y.

Step 4: Find X value by using other equation the first one. Refer to image.

Step 5: the solution is (10,2)

Y=2x-1<br><br> y=-3x+14<br><br> Solve for y
LUCKY_DIMON [66]
Y=2x-1
y=-3x+14

First you would substitue one of the y's for the other so
2x-1=-3x+14

no you would solve for x...
add one on both sides
2x=-3x+15

now add 3x to both sides which becomes
5x=15

divide 5 on both sides which gives you x=3

now to solve for y plug into any one of the equations(doesn't matter which one) from before 3 for x and solve
y=2(3)-1
y=6-1
y=5

And that is you answer y=5

A graph is constructed of the length of the side of a square compared to the area of a square. what would the function rule be t
sergeinik [125]
Based on the given description above, it is said that the graph is made of the length of the side of a square. By definition, a square has equal sides, and the area of getting the square is A=s^2. Therefore, the function rule for this to find the area for any given side length would be y = x^2. Given the y is the area of the graph and x is the length of the side. Hope this answer helps.

In the equation y/6 = 156, what is the next step in the equation solving sequence
Tpy6a [65]

Answer:

Linear Equations In One Variable =

Next step :

in the equation y/6 = 156, it would be equivalent to y = 156 × 6.

so that :

y = 156 × 6

y = 936
