Definition of newton. A newton is the force required to give a mass of 1 kilogram (1 kg) an acceleration of 1 meter per second per second (1 m/s2). It is abbreviated as N. This unit of measurement is in the metric or SIsystem and is used in scientific work more than other units of force.

Describe all the ways that newtons laws can apply in a car crash
Harman [31]
Newtons first law - Objects in the car at rest (The human) will remain at rest unless affected by an unbalanced force. Well the unbalanced force would be the crash and this would set the human in motion and they would ether fly out the car if not wearing a seat belt or if wearing one they would get bad whip lash

Newtons second law - With more mass requires more force, so since the human is pretty light or even if heavy in a big crash there will be so much more from it that this will send the human flying.

Newtons 3rd law - Objects A puts force onto objects b and object b excretes the same amount of force back onto object a, so in a crash the human would hit the car hard and the car would excrete the same amount of force back on the human which would really damage him/her

Usain Bolt's world-record 100 m sprint on August 16, 2009, has been analyzed in detail. At the start of the race, the 94.0 kg Bo
kifflom [539]

Answer:

893 Newtons

Explanation:

m = Mass of Usain Bolt = 94 kg

a = Acceleration of Usain Bolt in the first 0.89 seconds = 9.5 m/s²

From Newton's Second law

Force

F=ma

\\\Rightarrow F=94\times 9.5

\\\Rightarrow F=893\ N

The average horizontal force exerted by Bolt against the ground during the first 0.890 s of the race is 893 Newtons

Scenario 2: Use the following information to answer questions 3 and 4:
NemiM [27]

Answer:

A. 52 min

.A. 47 watts

Explanation:

Given that;

jim weighs 75 kg

and he walks 3.3 mph; the objective here is to determine how long must he walk to expend 300 kcal.

Using the following relation to determine the amount of calories burned per minute while walking; we have:

\dfrac{MET*weight (kg)*3.5}{200}

here;

MET = energy cost of a physical activity for a period of time

Obtaining the data for walking with a speed of 3.3 mph From the  standard chart for MET, At 3.3 mph; we have our desired value to be 4.3

However;

the calories burned in a minute = \dfrac{4.3*75 (kg)*3.5}{200}

= 5.644

Therefore, for walking for 52 mins; Jim  burns approximately 293.475 kcal which is nearest to 300 kcal.

4.

Given that:

mass m = 75 kg

intensity = 6 kcal/min

The eg ergometer work rate = ??

Applying the formula:

V_O_2 ( intensity ) = ( \dfrac{W}{m}*1.8)+7

where ;

V_O_2 ( intensity ) = \dfrac{1 \ kcal min^{-1}*10^{-3}}{5}

V_O_2 ( intensity ) = \dfrac{6*1 \ kcal min^{-1}*10^{-3}}{5}

V_O_2 ( intensity ) = 0.0012

∴0.0012 = (\dfrac{W}{75}*1.8)+7 \\ \\ W = \dfrac{0.0012-7}{1.8}*75 \\ \\ W = \dfrac{7*75}{1.8}  \\ \\ W = 291.66 \ kg m /min

Converting to watts;

Since;  6.118kg-m/min is =  1 watt

Then 291.66 kgm /min will be equal to 47.67 watts

≅ 47 watts
