<span>To find the average number of muffins baked by both the girls, wed need to find the total number of muffins baked by the girls together. Number of muffins baked by Andrea = h - -- - - - - -- ------------------- by violet = h-8 ( 8 fewer than h means h-8) So the total number of muffins = h + h - 8 = 2h-8 To find the average, divide the total by the number of people(2) = 2h-8 /2 = h - 4</span>

This is the concept of algebra, the average number of muffins baked by each girl will be given as follows;
Muffins baked by Andrea=h muffins
Muffins baked by Violet =h-8

Average=(Total sum of numbers)/(Number of items)
total sum=h+(h-8)=2h-8
Number of items=2
thus;
average=(2h-8)/2=h-4
the answer in terms of h is (h-4)

Which two statements are missing in steps 3 and 4?
Snezhnost [94]

Answer:

∠B ≅ ∠Y △ABC ~ △ZYX by the SAS similarity theorem.

Step-by-step explanation:

1. AB=6 units

YZ=3 units

BC=8 units

XY=4 units, then

\dfrac{AB}{ZY}=\dfrac{BC}{YX}=2

2. \angle B and \angle Y are right angles - given

3.  \angle B\cong \angle Y two right angles are always congruent.

4. \triangle ABC\sim \triangle ZYX by SAS similarity theorem.

SAS Similarity Theorem states that if two sides in one triangle are proportional to two sides in another triangle and the included angle in both are congruent, then the two triangles are similar.
