PEMDAS is the order of operations....it is the order u solve equations.
P = parenthesis....u solve what is in parenthesis first
E = exponents...u solve the exponents next
M = multiply , D = divide....starting from left and going right, u do all the multiplying and dividing
A = addition, S = subtraction...starting from left and going right, u do all the addition and subtraction

How do you add vectors? Add the vector 3,4 to the vector that goes 7 units at an angle of 2π/3.
Gekata [30.6K]

The sum of two vectors is (- 0.5, 10.1)

<u>Explanation: </u>

To add two vectors, add the corresponding components.

Let u =⟨u1,u2⟩ and v =⟨v1,v2⟩ be two vectors.

Then, the sum of u and v is the vector

u +v =⟨u1+v1, u2+v2⟩

(b)

Two vectors = ( 3, 4 )

angle 2π/3 = 120°

In x axis, the vector is = 7 cos 120°

                           = 7 X -\frac{1}{2} \\\\= -3.5

In y axis, the vector is = 7 sin 120°

                                  = 7 X 0.866

                                  = 6.062

The second vectors are ( -3.5, 6.062)

Sum of two vectors = [( 3 + (-3.5) ), (4 + 6.062)]

                              = (- 0.5, 10.1)

Write 2350 million in standard form
AleksAgata [21]

we know that

<u>Standard Form</u> is also known as Scientific Notation, is a method of writing numbers that accommodates value excessively large or small to be suitably written in Standard Decimal Notation

in this problem we have

2,350\ million

Remember that

1\ million=1,000,000

so

2,350\ million=2,350*1,000,000=2,350,000,000

<u>convert to standard form </u>

2,350,000,000=2.35*10^{9}

therefore

<u>the answer is</u>

2.35*10^{9}

 The volume of a cylinder is
Dima020 [189]

The volume of a cylinder is equal to \frac{1}{3}\pi r^{2} h, where r is the radius of the cylinder and h is its height.

324 =  \frac{1}{3}\pi  r^{2} h

324 = \frac{1}{3} x 3.14 x r^{2} x 1

309.55 = r^{2}

r = \sqrt{309.55}

r = approx. 17.59 inches
