Non-point source of water pollution is caused by various distributed sources. This means that a pollution is caused in a different place but it is carried  when water runs and contaminates other water supplies is called as non-point source. Non-point source is caused by rain, snow melt finally depositing into another water resource.

Hog feces may contaminate the groundwater near a farm but when rain comes it sweeps the excretion to a nearby water resource causing a major pollution in the water. Hog feces is environmentally hazardous causing wheezing, fatigue, depression and even cancer.
