Ans) 6

The given equation is:

BF3 + Li2SO3 → B2(SO3)3 + LiF

# atoms in Reactants                                    # atoms in Products

B = 1                                                                   B = 2

F = 3                                                                   F = 1

Li = 2                                                                  Li = 1

S = 1                                                                    S = 3

O = 3                                                                   O = 9

In order to balance the unequal distribution of atoms, multiply BF3 by 2,  Li2SO3 by 3 and LiF by 6 to get:

2BF3 + 3Li2SO3 → B2(SO3)3 + 6LiF

Coefficient of LiF = 6

Slow cooling of magma results in the formation of c. coarse-grained textured rocks. An example of a coarse grained textured rock formed in this fashion is granite. As the rate of cooling of igneous rocks increases, the size of the crystal that is formed decreases. The Bowen's reaction series shows the different rocks cooled at different rates.

- What is the concentration of hydrogen ions if the pH is 12?
Xelga [282]

Answer:

There are

1.479

×

10

−

13

concentration of hydrogen ions

m

o

l

L

.

Explanation:

Because pH is a logarthmic scale, we can use the formula:

[

H

+

]

=

10

-pH

. Where...

=>

[

H

+

]

is the concentration of hydrogen ions in the solution.

=>

p

H

is the pH of the solution.

=> Where

10

is the base of the power - it's a logarithm formula.

We can now just sub in the values and solve for [

H

+

]

.

[

H

+

]

=

10

-pH

=

10

−

(

12.83

)

=

1.479108388

×

10

−

13

We can round (if required) to

1.479

×

10

−

13

.

Thus, there are

1.479

×

10

−

13

concentration of hydrogen ions

Hope this helps :)
