Well, first you must find the total amount of tiles that Augustin needs to paint.
 So, 300 from the bathroom
       675 from the kitchen
  +   100 from the hallway
--------------------
  All together, 300+675+100=1075.
Because each can covers 450 tiles, and you are trying to find how many cans you Augustin needs, you woud divide 1075 by 450.
1075/450 is 2.38888888 is not a full number, and you can not have part of a can. You also would not round downward, because then you wouldn't paint all the tiles. Therefore, you would round upward to 3.
Augustin will need 3 cans of paint.

How many 3/4s are in 3 2/4
MArishka [77]

Answer:

the answer is 3

Step-by-step explanation:

First change the whole number (3) to quaters or fraction

3x \frac{4}{4} = \frac{12}{4}

Now, add

\frac{2}{4} + \frac{12}{4} = \frac{14}{4}   Since, we have the same common denominator

now divide

14÷4 =3.5 = 3\frac{2}{4}

Therefore, there are 3 of 3/4 with a remainder of  \frac{2}{4} in 3 \frac{2}{4}.

On a test, shelly got approximately 93% of the items correct. she got 76 questions right. how many questions were on the test? a
svetlana [45]
You multiply 76 by 0.93. That is 70.68 which rounds to 71. To check, (71/76) = ~93.

Grasshoppers are distributed at random in a large field according to a Poisson process with parameter a 5 2 per square yard. How
HACTEHA [7]

In this question, the Poisson distribution is used.

Poisson distribution:

In a Poisson distribution, the probability that X represents the number of successes of a random variable is given by the following formula:

P(X = x) = \frac{e^{-\mu}*\mu^{x}}{(x)!}

In which

x is the number of sucesses

e = 2.71828 is the Euler number

\mu is the mean in the given interval.

Parameter of 5.2 per square yard:

This means that \mu = 5.2r, in which r is the radius.

How large should the radius R of a circular sampling region be taken so that the probability of finding at least one in the region equals 0.99?

We want:

P(X \geq 1) = 1 - P(X = 0) = 0.99

Thus:

P(X = 0) = 1 - 0.99 = 0.01

We have that:

P(X = x) = \frac{e^{-\mu}*\mu^{x}}{(x)!}

P(X = 0) = \frac{e^{-5.2r}*(5.2r)^{0}}{(0)!} = e^{-5.2r}

Then

e^{-5.2r} = 0.01

\ln{e^{-5.2r}} = \ln{0.01}

-5.2r = \ln{0.01}

r = -\frac{\ln{0.01}}{5.2}

r = 0.89

Thus, the radius should be of at least 0.89.
