The problem with the question is that 51% of 1009 adults could not have said that their biggest fear was losing vision. The issue with 51% of 1009 is that you wont be left with a whole number, but a decimal instead. You cant have a decimal of a person.

Answer:

The percent of adults who were worry about losing "vision" can not be 51%.

Step-by-step explanation:

In the given problem it is given that 51% of 1009 adults were worry about losing "vision".

Total number of persons = 1009

51% of 1009 is

1009\times \frac{51}{100}=514.59

It means 514.59 adults were worry about losing "vision", which is incorrect because the number of persons can not be a fraction or decimal value.

Therefore, the percent of adults who were worry about losing "vision" can not be 51%.

18 questions answered correctly on a test. that is 75% of the total number of questions. How many questions were on the test?
adelina 88 [10]

Answer:

24 = questions on test

Step-by-step explanation:

Questions answered correctly = questions on test * percent answered correctly

We know that she answered 18 correctly and that 75% were answered correctly

Substitute this information into the equation

18 = questions on test *.75

Divide by .75 on each side

18/.75 = questions on test *.75/.75

24 = questions on test

Answer:

no solution

Step-by-step explanation:

X cannot equal itself minus 5, in the same way if we replace it by let's say, 6...

6 does not equal 6-5 (1)........ and by the way in this specific equation 6 is just an example it does not matter what you replace it with, x can never = x-5

Hope this helped! Good Luck!

These box plots show daily low temperatures for a sample of days in two
Mumz [18]

Answer:

C. The distribution for town A is symmetric, but the distribution for

town B is negatively skewed.

Step-by-step Explanation:

From the box plots attached in the diagram below, which shows data of low temperatures for town A and town B for some days, we can compare the shapes of the box plot by visually analysing both box plots and how the data for each town is distributed.

=> For town A, the shape of the box plot is symmetric because both quartiles seem equal, and the median also divides the rectangular box into two equal halves. Both whiskers also appear to be of equal lengths.

The box plot for Town A takes a symmetric shape, and this shows a typical normal distribution of data.

=> On the other hand, Town B data distribution is different. The median seem close to the top half of the box and does not divide the box into equal halves. This shows the distribution is skewed. Since the whisker is shorter from the upper end of the box to the left side, we can infer that the distribution for Town B is skewed to the left, and it is negatively skewed.

=> The right comparison of the shapes of the box plots is "C. The distribution for town A is symmetric, but the distribution for town B is negatively skewed."
