Detergent has a ph of about 10. is detergent acidic or basic? use figure 8-3 to answer this question.
harina [27]

Answer is: detergent is basic.

pH (potential of hydrogen) is a numeric scale used to specify the acidity or basicity an aqueous solution.

When pH is less than seven (pH<7), solution is acidic.

When is equal seven (pH = 7), solution is neutral.

When pH is greater than seven (pH > 7), like in this example, solution is basic.

Sodium hydroxide is a common ingredient in drain cleaners such as Drano. The mole fraction of sodium hydroxide in a saturated aq
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

Answer:

The correct answer to this question is (c) 25.0 m

Explanation:

To solve this we list out the variables thus

mole fraction of sodium hydroxide = 0.310

Mole fraction = number of moles of a component ÷ total number of moles in the solution

Mole fraction = 0.310

In a saturaturated aqueous solution we have NaOH and water

∴ Number of moles of water molecules per unit = 1 - 0.310 = 0.690

However 0.690 moles of H₂O  weighs = 0.690 mole × 18.01528 g/mol =12.43 g = 0.01243 kg of H₂O

But the molality = number of moles per Kilogram of H₂O

therefore molality of NaOH in the sample of solution =

(0.310 mol of NaOH )÷(0.01243 kg of H₂O)

= 24.93 mol/kg or ≅ 25.0 m

How many moles of oxygen are in 25.45 g of caco3?
emmainna [20.7K]
From the periodic table:
mass of oxygen = 16 grams
mass of calcium = 40 grams
mass of carbon = 12 grams
mass of CaCO3 = 40 + 12 + 3(16) = 100 grams
Therefore, each 100 grams of CaCO3 contains 3 moles of oxygen
To know the number of oxygen moles in 25.45 grams, we will simply do cross multiplication as follows:
number of oxygen moles = (25.45 x 3) / 100 = 0.7636
