The prepositions are the words which show the relationship between the pronoun and the nouns. On the other hand, the prepositional phrase starts with the prepositions and end with the object of a preposition, having one or more modifiers to describe.

Adverb phrase refers to the group of words which qualifies adjectives, verbs or adverbs.

While answering the question of<em> where? when? or how?</em> prepositional phrase is identified as an adverb.

Therefore, the sentence in which group of words is a prepositional phrase acting as an adverb is My sister applied [on Tuesday] to a graduate school in England.

As the above bracketed sentence answer the question of <em>when </em>did she apply? -<u> 'on Tuesday'</u>, hence it qualifies to be a prepositional phrase acting as an adverb and modified<u> 'applied.'</u>

The attorney general has warned people that secondhand smoke is dangerous to their well-being.
sleet_krkn [62]

Answer:

<u>secondhand or second-hand</u>

Explanation:

A compound adjective is an adjective made up of two or more words, in which either of those words can be a noun, an adverb, a verb in their past participle form or a verb in their present participle form. Most of the time, these words are joined by a hyphen. The word <em>secondhand</em> is an adjective because it describes the noun "smoke", and it is compound because it is made up f two nouns <em>second </em>and<em> hand</em>. This adjective can also be separated with a hyphen: <em>second-hand.</em>

The other word that may look like a compound adjective, but it is not one, is well-being, because it is a word made up of an adverb + the verb be in their present participle form, HOWEVER, it does not act as an adjective but as a noun.

What is the connotation of the words "Normal" and "Abnormal"? What is the intended effect?
wel
In relating to behavior, normal means ordinary. Someone who displays normal (and usually healthy) behavior like the majority of people. Abnormal behavior is just the opposite.

For example: Person A sees a poisonous snake. They get away from the snake in fear. This person has normal behavior. Person B sees the same snake. They get on the ground and play with the snake. This person has abnormal behavior.
