How many meters tall is the statue of liberty if it is thirty times the height of a 154 centimeter person?
Reptile [31]
The question states that the Statue of Liberty is 30 times the height of a 154 centimeter person and asks how many meters tall the the Statue of Liberty is.
This is basically asking us to find 30 times 154 centimeters and convert it to meters.

30 • 154 = 4620
This tells us that the Statue of Liberty is 4,620 centimeters (cm) tall.

Now we must convert 4,620 cm to meters (m).
There are 100 cm in 1 m.
This means 100 cm = 1 m.
That means that meters are 100 times larger than centimeters.
With this in mind, we can divide the number of cm by 100 to convert it to m.

4,620 ÷ 100 = 46.2
That means that 4,620 cm is equal to 46.2 m.

The final answer:
If the Statue of Liberty is 30 times taller than 154 centimeters, then the Statue of Liberty is 46.2 meters tall.
So the answer is 46.2 meters.

Hope this helps!

Please help. How do you find cosine, sine, cosecant and secant with this triangle?
Veseljchak [2.6K]

Hi there! You have to remember these 6 basic Trigonometric Ratios which are:

 • sine (sin) = opposite/hypotenuse
 • cosine (cos) = adjacent/hypotenuse
 • tangent (tan) = opposite/adjacent
 • cosecant (cosec/csc) = hypotenuse/opposite
 • secant (sec) = hypotenuse/adjacent
 • cotangent (cot) = adjacent/opposite
 • cosecant is the reciprocal of sine
 • secant is the reciprocal of cosine
 • cotangent is the reciprocal of tangent

Back to the question. Assuming that the question asks you to find the cosine, sine, cosecant and secant of angle theta.

What we have now are:

 • Trigonometric Ratio
 • Adjacent = 12
 • Opposite = 10

Looks like we are missing the hypotenuse. Do you remember the Pythagorean Theorem? Recall it!

 • a²+b² = c²

Define that c-term is the hypotenuse. a-term and b-term can be defined as adjacent or opposite

Since we know the value of adjacent and opposite, we can use the formula to find the hypotenuse.

 • 10²+12² = c²
 • 100+144 = c²
 • 244 = c²

Thus, the hypotenuse is:

\large \boxed{c = 2 \sqrt{61} }

Now that we know all lengths of the triangle, we can find the ratio. Recall Trigonometric Ratio above! Therefore, the answers are:

 • cosine (cosθ) = adjacent/hypotenuse = 12/(2√61) = 6/√61 = (6√61) / 61
 • sine (sinθ) = opposite/hypotenuse = 10/(2√61) = 5/√61 = (5√61) / 61
 • cosecant (cscθ) is reciprocal of sine (sinθ). Hence, cscθ = (2√61/10) = √61/5
 • secant (secθ) is reciprocal of cosine (cosθ). Hence, secθ = (2√61)/12 = √61/6

Questions can be asked through comment.

Furthermore, we can use Trigonometric Identity to find the hypotenuse instead of Pythagorean Theorem.

Hope this helps, and Happy Learning! :)

The ratio table below shows the relationship between the weight of apples purchased and the total cost of the apples.
Flauer [41]

When the weight of apples is increased by a factor of 4, total cost increases by 8.

What is the increase in total cost?

The first step is to determine the relationship between the weight of apples and their total cost.

Relationship between weight and total cost = $2 / 1 = $2

Increase in total cost = $2 x 4 = $8

The perimeter of a rectangular construction site is 124 meters. The width is eight meters more than 5 times the length. Find the
tresset_1 [31]

Answer:

The perimeter of a rectangle is the sum of both lengths and both widths, which is equal to 54 meters. Let's call Length L and Width W.

The question is saying this: L = 3 meters + 3(W). We have 2 variables, which means we need at least 2 equations to solve. So far we have one, our second equation is from the perimeter.

2 lengths + 2 Widths = 54. Now, it's just a plug and chug.

2(3 + 3W) + 2W = 54.

6 + 6W + 2W = 54

8W = 48

W=6

L = 3 + 3(6) = 21

To double check: 2(21) + 2(6) = 42 + 12 = 54

The Width is 6 meters, and the Length is 21 meters.
