Two Carnot engines operate in series such that the heat rejected from one is the heat input to the other. The heat transfer from
kykrilka [37]

Answer:

Given:

high temperature reservoir T_{H} =1000k

low temperature reservoir T_{L} =400k

thermal efficiency n_{1}= n_{2}

The engines are said to  operate on Carnot cycle which is totally reversible.

To find the intermediate temperature between the two engines, The thermal efficiency of the first heat engine can be defined as

n_{1} =1-\frac{T}{T_{H} }

The thermal efficiency of second heat engine can be written as

n_{2} =1-\frac{T_{L} }{T}

The temperature of intermediate reservoir can be defined as

1-\frac{T}{T_{H} } =1-\frac{T_{L} }{T} \\T^2=T_{L} T_{H} \\T=\sqrt{T_{L} T_{H} }\\T=\sqrt{400*1000} =632k

A belt drive was designed to transmit the power of P=7.5 kW with the velocity v=10m/s. The tensile load of the tight side is twi
Leviafan [203]

Answer:

F₁ = 1500 N

F₂ = 750 N

F_{e} = 500 N

Explanation:

Given :

Power transmission, P = 7.5 kW

                                      = 7.5 x 1000 W

                                      = 7500 W

Belt velocity, V = 10 m/s

F₁ = 2 F₂

Now we know from power transmission equation

P = ( F₁ - F₂ ) x V

7500 = ( F₁ - F₂ ) x 10

750 =  F₁ - F₂

750 = 2 F₂ - F₂      ( ∵F₁ = 2 F₂ )

∴F₂  = 750 N

Now F₁ = 2 F₂

        F₁ = 2 x F₂

        F₁ = 2 x 750

        F₁ = 1500 N   ,   this is the maximum force.

Therefore we know,

F_{max} = 3 x F_{e}

where F_{e} is centrifugal force

 F_{e} = F_{max} / 3

                          = 1500 / 3

                         = 500 N

Which of the following can effect LRO?
aleksley [76]

Answer:

The lunar radiation environment, allowing scientists to determine potential impacts to astronauts and other life. It also will test models on the effects of radiation and measure radiation absorption by a type of plastic that is like human tissue. The results could aid in the development of protective technologies to help keep future lunar crew members safe. CRaTER was built and developed by Boston University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston.

The principal value of a Pareto diagram is as a
vlada-n [284]

The Pareto principle is that most things in our life are not commonly distributed.

<u>Explanation:</u>

Pareto chart shows that most of the things which we have in our life and the resources in our life are not equally distributed. The ratio is not always 50:50 according to this principle.

The most important use of a Pareto diagram is to show the most important factor among the set of factors that have been shown. Along with that it also shows the sources which lead to the common defects in the system and tries to solve those defects which occur most often.
