Explanation:

Density of a substance is given by the mass of the substance divided by the volume of the substance .

Hence , d = m / V

V = volume

m = mass ,

d = density ,

From the question , The density of ethylene glycol = 1.11 g / cm³

The unit  1 cm³ = 1 mL

Hence , density = 1.11 g / mL

( a )

The volume of ethylene glycol = 376 mL

The mass of ethylene glycol can be calculated by using the above formula -

d = m / V

m = d * V

m = 1.11 g / mL * 376 mL

m = 417.36 g

( b )

The mass of ethylene glycol = 3.10 Kg

( since , 1 Kg = 1000 g )

The mass of ethylene glycol = 3.10 Kg = 3.10 * 1000 = 3100 g

The Volume of ethylene glycol can be calculated by using the above formula -

d = m / V

V = m / d

V = 3100 g / 1.11 g / mL

V =  2792.79 mL = 2.79279 L

( since , 1 ml = 1/1000 L )

What's the partial pressure of carbon dioxide in a container that holds .35 atm of nitrogen, and .12 atm of hydrogen and has a t
ivanzaharov [21]

Answer:

0.58 atm

Explanation:

Step 1: Given data

  • Total pressure of the gaseous mixture (P): 1.05 atm
  • Partial pressure of N₂ (pN₂): 0.35 atm
  • Partial pressure of H₂ (pH₂): 0.12 atm
  • Partial pressure of CO₂ (pCO₂): ?

Step 2: Calculate the partial pressure of CO₂

The total pressure of the gaseous mixture is equal to the sum of the partial pressures of the individual gases.

P = pN₂ + pO₂ + pCO₂

pCO₂ = P - pN₂ - pO₂

pCO₂ = 1.05 atm - 0.35 atm - 0.12 atm = 0.58 atm
