Answer:

Explanation:

Electric field E = k Q / R²

k = 9 x 10⁹ , Q is charge and R is distance of point from the charge where field is to be found .

Electric field due to q₁ at distance x where total field is zero

E₁ = k x .48 x 10⁻⁹ / x²

Electric field due to other charge at that point

E₂ = k x 7.6 x 10⁻⁹ /( 1.16-x )²

For net field to be zero , E₁ and E₂ should be equal and opposite

k x .48 x 10⁻⁹ / x²  =  k x 7.6 x 10⁻⁹ /( 1.16-x )²

(1.16 - x )² / x² = 7.6 / .48 = 15.8333

1.16 - x / x = ±3.979

1.16 - x = 3.979 x

1.16 = 4.979 x

x = .233 m

distance from other charge

= 1.16 - .233

= .927 m .

For a pendulum with period of oscillation, T, if the mass of the bob is reduced by half what will be the new period of oscillati
user100 [1]

Answer:

c. T

and the new period is T'=4T

Explanation:

the period of a pendulum is given by:

T=2\pi \sqrt{\frac{l}{g} }

as we can see the period of oscillation of the pendulum does not depend on the mass, so if the mass is reduced this will not affect the period, it will remain the same.

The new period if thr pedulum oscilates on Pluto, will be calculated with the previous equation, but the gravity will be

g'=\frac{1}{16}g

where g is the gravity on earth: g=9.8m/s^2

so the new period:

T=2\pi\sqrt{\frac{l}{g'} } =2\pi\sqrt{\frac{l}{\frac{1}{16} g} } =2\pi\sqrt{\frac{16l}{ g} } =2\pi \sqrt{16}\sqrt{\frac{l}{ g} } =4(2\pi \sqrt{\frac{l}{ g} })

and we know that

(2\pi \sqrt{\frac{l}{ g} }) is the original period T

so the new period in terms of the orginal period is:

T'=4T

What do am electron and a neutron have in common
valentinak56 [21]

Atoms are made of extremely tiny particles called protons, neutrons, and electrons. Protons and neutrons are in the center of the atom, making up the nucleus. The charge on the proton and electron are exactly the same size but opposite. Since opposite charges attract, protons and electrons attract each other.

A satellite is orbiting the Earth in a circular orbit of radius r. Its frequency is independent of its height above the surface
Pie

Answer:

a. TRUE

Explanation:

When a satellite is launched to orbit around earth, it has to produce its own artificial gravity by performing rotations. The frequency of this rotation is given by the following formula:

f = √[ac/4πR²]

where,

f = frequency

ac = centripetal acceleration

R = Radius of the satellite

Therefore, it is clear from this formula that the frequency of rotation of the satellite is independent of its height above the surface of earth. So, the correct option is:

<u>a. TRUE</u>

A student is blowing over a straw 25 cm long, which is closed at one end. If the sound produced has a frequency of 350 Hz, what
NARA [144]

Answer:

If the end of the tube is uncovered such that the air at the end of the tube can freely vibrate when the sound wave reaches it, then the end is referred to as an open end. If both ends of the tube are uncovered or open, the musical instrument is said to contain an open-end air column.

mr Goodwill [35]

Explanation:

Initially, two balls of the same shape and size have charges of +8 and-2. The balls are brought together, allowed to touch, and then separated.

When they are touched, the total charge is evenly distributed among the whole surface and they behaves as if it is a single piece. Net charge at this point is +8-2=6 C. When they are separated, each ball will have a charge of 6/2 = 3 C.
