When you spend $1 at the grocery store, the store doesn’t keep all of your money as profit. Some of it is reinvested in the econ

omy when the grocery store buys more merchandise from suppliers. In turn, the suppliers don’t keep all of that money as profit, either; they reinvest it in the economy when they buy more raw materials from other suppliers. The end result is that your $1 may have a larger effect on the economy. Consider the following situation.
In January, a factory invests $400,000 into the economy in the form of employee salaries. During February, assume that the employees reinvest in the economy by spending 80% of their salaries. Then, during March, 80% of what was spent by the employees is again reinvested in the economy by the merchants. And so on.
Part A: Find the amount of money that is invested during the first four months.
Part B: Starting with January, the amount of money that is invested in the economy forms what kind of sequence?
Part C: Write a rule for the amount of money that is invested during Month n.
The total economic impact of the factory’s initial investment is the sum of all the investments and reinvestments over the months.
Part D: What is the total economic impact after the first four months?

Which of the following functions is graphed below?
yanalaym [24]

Answer:

c) l x - 5 l - 4

Step-by-step explanation:

when you're graphing functions whatever is inside the paranthesis, square root or absolute value determines whether you go left or right, if its a negative you go to the right, if its positive you go to the left. So the opposite of what you would expect it to go

in this instance its - 5, so you go 5 units to the right

and the number outside determines if you go up or down, in this question its - 4 so you go down 4 units

The height "h" of a ball thrown straight up with a velocity of 88 ft/s is given by h = -16t^2 + 88t where "t" is the time it is
Dvinal [7]

By definition of the zeros of ta quadratic function,  for 5.5 seconds the ball is in the air before it hits the ground.

<h3>Zeros of a function</h3>

The points where a polynomial function crosses the axis of the independent term (x) represent the so-called zeros of the function.

That is, the zeros represent the roots of the polynomial equation that is obtained by making f(x)=0.

In summary, the roots or zeros of the quadratic function are those values of x for which the expression is equal to 0. Graphically, the roots correspond to the abscissa of the points where the parabola intersects the x-axis.

<h3>Time the ball is in the air before it hits the ground</h3>

In this case, the height "h" of a ball thrown straight up with a velocity of 88 ft/s is given by h = -16t² + 88t, where "t" is the time it is in the air.

When the ball hits he ground, he height h has a value of zero. This is h=0. Replacing in the previous expression for the height you get:

0= -16t² + 88t

It can be solved by extracting the term "t" as a common factor:

0= t×(-16t + 88)

The Zero Product Principle says that if the product of two numbers is 0, then at least one of the factors is 0. Then:

t= 0

or

0= -16t + 88

Solving: -88= -16t

(-88)÷ (-16)=t

<u><em>5.5= t</em></u>

Finally, this means that for 5.5 seconds the ball is in the air before it hits the ground.
