When you spend $1 at the grocery store, the store doesn’t keep all of your money as profit. Some of it is reinvested in the econ

omy when the grocery store buys more merchandise from suppliers. In turn, the suppliers don’t keep all of that money as profit, either; they reinvest it in the economy when they buy more raw materials from other suppliers. The end result is that your $1 may have a larger effect on the economy. Consider the following situation.
In January, a factory invests $400,000 into the economy in the form of employee salaries. During February, assume that the employees reinvest in the economy by spending 80% of their salaries. Then, during March, 80% of what was spent by the employees is again reinvested in the economy by the merchants. And so on.
Part A: Find the amount of money that is invested during the first four months.
Part B: Starting with January, the amount of money that is invested in the economy forms what kind of sequence?
Part C: Write a rule for the amount of money that is invested during Month n.
The total economic impact of the factory’s initial investment is the sum of all the investments and reinvestments over the months.
Part D: What is the total economic impact after the first four months?

What is the maximum of the sinusoidal function? pls help me pls!
Sonja [21]

Answer:M = A + |B|.

Step-by-step explanation:The maximum value of the function is M = A + |B|. This maximum value occurs whenever sin x = 1 or cos x = 1. The minimum value of the function is m = A ‐ |B|. This minimum occurs whenever sin x = −1 or cos x = −1.

Find all possible values of each expression. Suppose 3
Tomtit [17]

The inequality that describes the possible values of the expression is:

0 < \frac{b}{3a} - \frac{a}{3b} < \frac{9}{60}

<h3>What is the lower bound of values of the expression?</h3>

The expression is given by:

\frac{b}{3a} - \frac{a}{3b}

To find the lower bound, we try to see when the expression is negative, hence:

\frac{b}{3a} - \frac{a}{3b} < 0

\frac{b}{3a} < \frac{a}{3b}

Applying cross multiplication and simplifying the 3's, we have that:

b^2 < a^2

From the bounds given, this expression will never be true, at most they can be equal, when:

a = b = 4.

Hence the lower bound of values of the expression is of 0.

<h3>What is the upper bound of values of the expression?</h3>

The expression is a subtraction, hence we want to maximize the first term and minimize the second.

Considering that the first term is direct proportional to b and inverse to a, and the second vice versa, we want to:

  • Maximize b, hence b = 5.
  • Minimize a, hence a = 4.

Then:

\frac{b}{3a} - \frac{a}{3b} = \frac{5}{12} - \frac{4}{15} = \frac{25 - 16}{60} = \frac{9}{60}

Hence the bounds are:

0 < \frac{b}{3a} - \frac{a}{3b} < \frac{9}{60}

Solve the system of equations using substitution y=x-1 and y=-2x+5
pav-90 [236]
Since the two equations equal y, set them equal to each other.

x-1=-2x+5

From there, solve for x.

First get x on one side, by using the addition property of equality.

x-1=-2x+5
3x-1=5

Isolate x by adding 1.
3x=6

Lastly get x all by itself by dividing each side by 3.
x=2

You can now substitute your x-value, 2, into one of the equations (or both, if you wish; either one will result in the same answer.)

y=x-1
y=2-1
y=1

OR

y=-2x+5
y=-2(2)+5
y=-4+5
y=1

Final answer:
x=2 and y=1
