Pumps A, B and C operate at their respective constant rates. Pumps A and B, simultaneously, can fill a certain tank in 6/5 hours

. Pump A and C, operating simultaneously, can fill the tank in 3/2 hours; abd pumps B and C, operating simultaneously, can fill the tank in 2 hours. How many hours does it take pumps A, B, and C, operating simultaneously, to fill the tank?(A) 1/3(B) 1/2(C) 2/3(D) 5/6(E) 1

[NOTE: NO OPTION MATCHES THE ANSWER because values provided are wrong but I have solved the qyestion with the given values for your understanding, If B and C will take 1/2 hours then the answer will be 1 that is Option E]

Answer:

Pumps A and B,

A + B = 5/6

Pumps A and C,

A + C = 3/2

Pumps B and C,

B + C = 2

Now we have to find

A + B + C = ?

For this we will add all of the above equations from both sides.

A+B + A+C +B+C = 5/6 + 3/2 + 2

Taking LCM on R.H.S,

2A + 2B + 2C = (5+9+12)/6

2(A+B+C) = 26/6

2(A+B+C)= 13/3

A+B+C = 13/6

It will take 13/6 hours if A,B and C are pumped simultaneously.

[NOTE: NO OPTION MATCHES THE ANSWER because values provided are wrong but I have solved the qyestion with the given values for your understanding, If B and C will take 1/2 hours then the answer will be 1 that is Option E]

LuckyWell [14K]

Answer:

3.75p+8.50<=34.75

Step-by-step explanation:

No matter what, if you get at least 2 pair of flip flops you will be spending $8.50 plus 3.75 per pair on each additional pair . If she has $34.75 to spend and cannot go over, the inequality sign will be less than or equal to.  It is fine if she spends less than that and it's ok if she spends exactly that, but she cannot spend more than she has.

The inequality then would be this:

3.75p+8.50<=34.75....

The ages of commercial aircraft are normally distributed with a mean of 13.5 years and a standard deviation of 7.3 years. what p
Artist 52 [7]
Answer: The percent higher is 41.68%. If 49 planes were selected, 20 of them should be above 15 years.

To find the percent, we first need the z-score.

(15 - 13.5) / 7.3 = 0.21

Now, use a normal distribution table to find the percent above a score of 0.21. It will be 41.68%.

To find the number of 49 planes above this value, multiply 49 by 0.4168. You will have about 20.4 planes.

Identify the pairs of alternate exterior angles in the given figure.
gtnhenbr [62]

Answer: Choice D

  • Angle 1 and angle 7
  • Angle 2 and angle 8

=========================================================

Explanation:

The angles 3,4,5,6 are all considered interior angles because they are inside or between the parallel lines.

The remaining angles 1,2,7,8 are exterior angles as they outside the parallel lines. You can think of angles 3,4,5,6 being in the river or a road, while the other angles are on the sidewalk or the shoreline.

Alternating angles are ones that are on either side of the transversal cut.

Combining the two ideas leads to alternate exterior angles being outside the parallel lines and on either side of the transversal. This applies to the following pairs:

  • angle 1 and angle 7
  • angle 2 and angle 8

This is why choice D is the answer.
