[NOTE: NO OPTION MATCHES THE ANSWER because values provided are wrong but I have solved the qyestion with the given values for your understanding, If B and C will take 1/2 hours then the answer will be 1 that is Option E]

Answer:

Pumps A and B,

A + B = 5/6

Pumps A and C,

A + C = 3/2

Pumps B and C,

B + C = 2

Now we have to find

A + B + C = ?

For this we will add all of the above equations from both sides.

A+B + A+C +B+C = 5/6 + 3/2 + 2

Taking LCM on R.H.S,

2A + 2B + 2C = (5+9+12)/6

2(A+B+C) = 26/6

2(A+B+C)= 13/3

A+B+C = 13/6

It will take 13/6 hours if A,B and C are pumped simultaneously.

[NOTE: NO OPTION MATCHES THE ANSWER because values provided are wrong but I have solved the qyestion with the given values for your understanding, If B and C will take 1/2 hours then the answer will be 1 that is Option E]

A representative of a car manufacturer in the United States made the following claim in a news report. "Ten years ago, only 53 p
Harman [31]

According to the p-value, the correct option regarding the decision of the test hypothesis is:

v. No, because 0.283 > 0.05.

What are the hypothesis tested?

At the null hypothesis, we test if the proportion is still of 0.53, that is:

H_0: p = 0.53

At the alternative hypothesis, we test if it has increased, that is:

H_1: p > 0.53.

What is the decision according to the p-value?

 • If p-value > significance level, we do not reject the null hypothesis.
 • If p-value < significance level, we reject the null hypothesis.

In this problem, the p-value is of 0.283 > 0.05, hence there is not sufficient evidence to conclude, at the significance level of a = 0.05, that the proportion of all car owners in the United States who own American-made cars has increased from what it was ten years ago, which means that option V is correct.

Assume every 10-digit natural number is a possible telephone number except those that begin with 0, 1 or 2. What fraction of tel
lana [24]

Answer: 1/70

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a question that can also be interpreted as what is the probability of having the first number of a phone number to be 8 and the last number of the phone number to also be 8. This answer gives the fraction of the phone numbers that starts with 8 and end with 8.

Since three numbers (0,1,2) cannot start a phone number and we are left to pick from 7 numbers,

then the probability of figure "8" starting phone number = 1/7

Since all 10 numbers can possibly end a phone number,

then the probability of having figure "8" as the last digit of a phone number = 1/10

Hence probability of having "8" as the first and last digit of a phone number = fraction of total telephone numbers that begin with digit 8 and end with digit 8 = 1/7 × 1/10 = 1/70.
