V₁/T₁ = V₂/T₂ = const

T₁=11+273=284K
V₂=3V₁

V₁/T₁=3V₁/T₂

T₂=3T₁

T₂=3*284=852K

t₂=852-273=579°C

Answer:

At 579°C the volume of the gas be three times as big.

Explanation:

Under constant pressure:

Initial temperature of the gas =T_1=11^oC=284.15K

Initial volume of the gas = V_1=V

Initial temperature of the gas =T_2=?

Initial volume of the gas = V_2=3V

Applying Charles law:

\frac{V_1}{T_1}=\frac{V_2}{T_2} (Constant pressure)

T_2=\frac{284.15 K\times 3V}{V}=852.45K=579 ^oC

At 579°C the volume of the gas be three times as big.

You have 1 m3 of wood and 1 m3 of aluminum. which is heavier? prove your answer with calculation.
Oduvanchick [21]

You have 1 m³ of wood and 1 m³ of aluminum.

Aluminum is the heavier material with a higher density.

What is density?

The mass-to-volume ratio, or mass per unit volume, is known as density. It assesses how much material an object contains in relation to its volume (cubic metre or cubic centimeter). In essence, density is a measurement of how closely together matter is packed.

Density of the wood =1500kg/1m³ = 1500kg/m³ ⟹ 1m³ has a mass of 1500kg Density of Aluminum(Al) =2700kg/m³ = 2700kg/m³⟹ 1m³ has a mass of 2700kg

Therefore, Aluminum is the heavier material with a higher density.

How do you decide which conversion factor to use?
Juliette [100K]

Answer:

When a conversion is necessary, the appropriate conversion factor to an equal value must be used. For example, to convert inches to feet, the appropriate conversion value is 12 inches equal 1 foot. To convert minutes to hours, the appropriate conversion value is 60 minutes equal 1 hour

Copper(II) sulfate pentahydrate, CuSO4 ·5 H2O, (molar mass 250 g/mol) can be dehydrated by repeated heating in a crucible. Which
prohojiy [21]

Answer:

The water lost is 36% of the total mass of the hydrate

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

Molar mass of CuSO4*5H2O = 250 g/mol

Molar mass of CuSO4 = 160 g/mol

Step 2: Calculate mass of water lost

Mass of water lost = 250 - 160 = 90 grams

Step 3: Calculate % water

% water = (mass water / total mass of hydrate)*100 %

% water = (90 grams / 250 grams )*100% = 36 %

We can control this by the following equation

The hydrate has 5 moles of H2O

5*18. = 90 grams

(90/250)*100% = 36%

(160/250)*100% = 64 %

The water lost is 36% of the total mass of the hydrate
