Length x width x height. Plug in the numbers, the bottom one, the length is 5, width is 3, height is 9. 5 x 3 = 15. 15 x 9 = 135. Now considering you still have the top one to do, we can eliminate A, B, and C as answer choices. But if you want proof to solve it, the top figure is length 8 x width 3 x height 3. 8 x 3 = 24. 24 x 3 = 72. 135 + 72 = 207. Recap:

Bottom Figure:

5 x 3 x 9
5 x 3 = 15, 15 x 9 = 135

Top Figure:

8 x 3 x 3
8 x 3 = 24, 24 x 3 = 72

135 + 72 = 207. There is your answer, good luck!

Figure on top is 8 times 9 (to find volume)
the figure on top has a volume of 72 cm^3

the volume of the lower figure:
3 times 9 times 5 = 135 cm^3
72+135=207 cm^3

the volume of both figures is 207 cm^3

A 45 foot ladder is leaning against a building. If the bottom of the ladder is 27 feet from the base of the building, how tall i
taurus [48]

Answer:

The height of building to the nearest foot is h = 36 foot

Step-by-step explanation:

We have given,

Length of ladder leaning against a building, l = 45 foot

Bottom length between ladder and the building , b = 27

Now, we need to find the height of building to the nearest foot.

Let the height of building be h.

Using Pythagoras theorem,

l^{2} = b^{2} +h^{2}

Here, l = 45 , b = 27 and h =?

So,

45^{2} = 27^{2} +h^{2}

h² = 45² - 27²

h = √(45² - 27²)

h = 36

The height of building to the nearest foot is h = 36 foot
