Georges asked five of his friends how long they studied for the last math test and what grade they received. He found a linear r

egression equation for the data to be y = 9.6x + 65.8. What does the 9.6 mean in the context of this equation? A) His friends on average studied 9.6 hours. B) If they studied 9.6 hours they would get a 0 on the test. C) They should study 9.6 hours in order to get an A on the test. Eliminate D) For every hour they studied their grade would go up 9.6 points.

Well assuming x is hours, answer D is correct. This is because we are taking amount of hours as the input and the grade they got as an output. So, assuming that every unit step means an hour, for each extra hour someone studied, they got 9.6 more points. The +65.8 means that usually someone who didn't study got a 65.8 because when x is 0 (0 hours studied), what's left is 65.8

NeX [460]

Answer: b)

Step-by-step explanation:

You can rule out A) and C), because you have to find area (no adding.)

To do this problem, you can individually multiply the estimated hieght and

width by 3 and then multiply together.

This is because there are 3 walls that each are 9 3/4 tall and 14 1/4 wide. To find total height and width, multiply by 3. Then find total area (lxw)

9 3/4 rounds to 10

14 1/4 rounds to 14

= 3 (10) x 3 (14)

D) is incorrect because you have to multiply each number by 3. (Or you can multiply by 6)

It is B)

miv72 [106K]

Answer:

x<11

Step-by-step explanation:

x−4(|−2|)<3

Simplifies to:

x−8<3

Let's solve your inequality step-by-step.

x−8<3

Step 1: Add 8 to both sides.

x−8+8<3+8

x<11

Write the expression as a square of a monomial 121a^6
Nutka1998 [239]
The square root of 121 is 11. The square toot of a^6 is a^3. Therefore 121a^6 can be expressed as (11a^3)^2, and 11a^3 is a monomial since it is a single term with nothing added or subtracted to it or from it. So 121a^6 as a squared monomial is (11a^3)^2.

Which line is parallel to the line y = 3x + 6?
TiliK225 [7]
Y = 3x - 9, because for a line to be parallel it has to have the same gradient (x value) as the first line, and y = 3x - 9 is the only equation with the x value of 3.
