Answer:

11.0845g of HBO_2 is produced from the combustion of 96.9 g of B_2H_6

Explanation:

Given:

mass of  B_2H_6 used in combustion= 96.9 g

To find:

amount  of   HBO_2 produced=?

Solution:

Let us find the molecular mass ofB_2H_6

Atomic weight of Boron(B)=10.811

Atomic weight of Hydrogen(H)=1.007

Now the molecular mass of B_2H_6

=>2(10.811)+6(1.007)

=>21.622 x 6.042

=>27.664

In the given 96.9 g of B_2H_6, the number of moles of B_2H_6present is

96.9 g \text { of } B_2 H_6 \times \frac{1 \text { mol of } B_2 H_6}{27.666g B_2 H _6}=3.50 \text { moles of } B _2 H _6

So in 96.9 g of B2H6, 3.50  moles of   B2H6  is present  which is converted into 2 molecules of  HBO_2

The molecular mass of  HBO_2 is

Atomic weight of Boron(B)=10.811

Atomic weight of Hydrogen(H)=1.007

Atomic weight of Oxygen(O)=15.9994

=> 10.811+1.007+2(15.9994)

=>10.811+1.007+31.998

=>43.816

Convert 3.50 moles of B_2H_6 to HBO2  HBO_2

=>3.50 \text { moles of } B_2 H _6 \times \frac{2 \text { moles of } HBO_2}{1 \text { mole of } B _2H _6}}

=>3.50\times \frac {2\times (43.816)}{27.666}

=>3.50\times \frac{87.632}{27.666}

=>3.50\times 3.167

=>11.0845

When the temperature of a rigid hollow sphere containing 685 L of helium gas is held at 621 K, the pressure of the gas is 1.89 x
Leno4ka [110]
You have to use the equation PV=nRT.
P=pressure (in this case 1.89x10^3 kPa which equals 18.35677 atm)
1V=volume (in this case 685L)
n=moles (in this case the unknown)
R=gas constant (0.08206 (L atm)/(mol K))
T=temperature (in this case 621 K)
with the given information you can rewrite the ideal gas law equation as n=PV/RT.
n=(18.35677atm x 685L)/(0.08206atmL/molK x 621K)
n=246.8 moles

A 4.0 L container holds a sample of hydrogen gas at 306 K and 150 kPa. If the pressure increases to 300 kPa and the volume remai
riadik2000 [5.3K]

Answer:

612 K

Explanation:

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

Initial temperature (T₁) = 306 K

Initial pressure (P₁) = 150 kPa

Final pressure (P₂) = 300 kPa

Volume = 4 L = constant

Final temperature (T₂) =?

Since the volume is constant, the final (i.e the new) temperature of the gas can be obtained as follow:

P₁ / T₁ = P₂ / T₂

150 / 306 = 300 / T₂

Cross multiply

150 × T₂ = 306 × 300

150 × T₂ = 91800

Divide both side by 150

T₂ = 91800 / 150

T₂ = 612 K

Thus, the new temperature of the gas is 612 K
