Can someone explain how come the circled one is equal to zero but the other one is 6? I don't understand how they got that.

Answer:

The circled one has limit n tends to infinity on 3/n.

As 3 is a constant,it can come out of limit and the limit operates on 1/n.

Putting infinity in place of n,it becomes 1/(infinity),which is equal to 0.

Now,as for the other one,6 is a constant and limit on any constant gives the constant as it is.

So, it gives 6 .

Step-by-step explanation:

As n becomes very large, 3/n becomes very small.  As n approaches infinity, 3/n approaches 0.

For limits of fractions:

If the power of the numerator (in this case, n⁰) is less than the power of the denominator (in this case, n¹), the limit as n approaches infinity is 0.

If the powers are equal, the limit as n approaches infinity is the ratio of the leading coefficients.

And if the power of the numerator is greater than the power of the denominator, the limit as n approaches infinity is infinity.

For the second limit, as n becomes very large, 6 is still 6.  So as n approaches infinity, 6 approaches 6.

Grace wants to frame a square picture which has a area of
Deffense [45]

Answer:

First Picture: Length = 30.82in

Second Picture: Length = 34.64in

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Picture 1:

Area = 950in²

Picture 2:

Area = 1200in²

Required

Determine the length of each pictures

From the question, we understand that both pictures are square in shape and the area is calculated as thus:

Area = Length²

For the first picture, substitute 950 for Area

This gives:

950 = Length²

Length ² = 950

Take square root of both sides

Length = √950

Length = 30.8220700148448822

Length = 30.82 (approximated)

Hence, the length of the first picture is 30.82in

For the second picture, substitute 1200 for Area

This gives:

1200 = Length²

Length² = 1200

Take square root of both sides

Length = √1200

Length = 34.6410161513775458

Length = 34.64 (approximated)

Hence, the length of the second picture is 34.64in

HELPP. Write the following as an algebraic expression. The sum of a and a quarter of b.
Fynjy0 [20]

Answer: a + \frac{1}{4}b

This is the same as a + \frac{b}{4}

All we're doing is adding 'a' and \frac{1}{4}b since the term "sum" is the result of adding two or more numbers.

One quarter of a number is the same as dividing by 4.

Example: one quarter of 28 = \frac{1}{4}*28 = \frac{28}{4} = 7

The relation of this set of points is a function. True or false.
JulsSmile [24]
Just graph it... Firstly though, do you know what a function is?
Google linear function, parabolic function, exponential function etc. to get familiar with what a function looks like.

Firstly, no function that I know has
(4, 5) and (4, -4) where there are two y coordinates for 1 x coordinate.
It is not linear, parabolic, or exponential, it could be some other type of function. But assuming you're in high school i'd say its safe to bet the answer is FALSE.

Write the equation of the circle with center (3,2) and with (9,3) being a point on the circle
miss Akunina [59]

Answer:

(x-3)^2 + (y-2)^2 = 37

Step-by-step explanation:

To write the equation of a circle, use the formula (x-h)^2+(y-k)^2 = r^2 where the center of the circle is (h, k).

This means the equation is (x-3)^2 + (y-2)^2 = r^2.

Find the radius r by finding the distance between (3,2) and (9,3) using the distance formula.

d = \sqrt{(9-3)^2 + (3-2)^2} =\sqrt{6^2 + 1^2} =\sqrt{36+1} =\sqrt{37}

Since the radius is √37 and therefore r^2 = 37.

The equation is (x-3)^2 + (y-2)^2 = 37.

At the bake sale there were 40 raisin cookies sold. If ratio of raisin cookies sold to oatmeal cookies sold was 5:1 what is the
Annette [7]

Answer:

48 cookies were sold in total.

Step-by-step explanation:

5:1 is the ratio of raisin cookies to oatmeal cookies, and 40 raisin cookies were sold. Meaning, 40:?.

To find the number of oatmeal cookies you divide 40 by 5, which gets 8. This means that the original ratio is multiplied by 8 to get the current ratio for the amount if cookies. 5(8) : 1(8) = 40:8. There are 40 raisin cookies and 8 oatmeal cookies. 40+8=48. There were 48 cookies sold in total.
