Answer:

1,174,405,120

Step-by-step explanation:

Multiply each month by 4

70 x 4 = 280

280 x 4 = 1,120

4,480 x 4 = 17,928

17,928 x 4 = 71,680

71,680 x 4 = 286,720

at 12 months you have 1,174,405,120

As you might've noticed, there is a PATTERN in the number of termites. That pattern is the no. of termites MULTIPLIED BY 4. Let me prove this:

The 1st term in the no. of termites is 70, the 2nd is 280. 70 MULTIPLIED BY 4 IS 280, ISN'T IT? Now let's look at the 2nd term in the no. of termites is 280 and the 3rd term is 1,120. 280×4= 1,120 isn't it?
Therefore after 1 year the no. of termites is 1, 174,405, 120.

The sequence$$1,2,1,2,2,1,2,2,2,1,2,2,2,2,1,2,2,2,2,2,1,2,\dots$$consists of $1$'s separated by blocks of $2$'s with $n$ $2$'s i
kicyunya [14]

Consider the lengths of consecutive 1-2 blocks.

block 1 - 1, 2 - length 2

block 2 - 1, 2, 2 - length 3

block 3 - 1, 2, 2, 2 - length 4

block 4 - 1, 2, 2, 2, 2 - length 5

and so on.

Recall the formula for the sum of consecutive positive integers,

\displaystyle \sum_{i=1}^j i = 1 + 2 + 3 + \cdots + j = \frac{j(j+1)}2 \implies \sum_{i=2}^j = \frac{j(j+1) - 2}2

Now,

1234 = \dfrac{j(j+1)-2}2 \implies 2470 = j(j+1) \implies j\approx49.2016

which means that the 1234th term in the sequence occurs somewhere about 1/5 of the way through the 49th 1-2 block.

In the first 48 blocks, the sequence contains 48 copies of 1 and 1 + 2 + 3 + ... + 47 copies of 2, hence they make up a total of

\displaystyle \sum_{i=1}^48 1 + \sum_{i=1}^{48} i = 48+\frac{48(48+1)}2 = 1224

numbers, and their sum is

\displaystyle \sum_{i=1}^{48} 1 + \sum_{i=1}^{48} 2i = 48 + 48(48+1) = 48\times50 = 2400

This leaves us with the contribution of the first 10 terms in the 49th block, which consist of one 1 and nine 2s with a sum of 1+9\times2=19.

So, the sum of the first 1234 terms in the sequence is 2419.

Triangles A C B and M Q R are shown. Sides A B and M R are congruent. Angles C A B and M R Q are 42 degrees. Angle C B A is 53 d
miss Akunina [59]

By ASA postulate it can be say that the triangle ABC and triangle MRQ are congruent

<h3>What is Angle Sum Property?</h3>

The sum of all three angles(interior) of a triangle is 180 degrees, and the exterior angle of a triangle measures the same as the sum of its two opposite interior angles.

Using Angle Sum Property, in ΔMRQ

<M + <R + <Q= 180

<M + 42 + 85 = 180

<M = 180 -42

<M= 53°

Now, In ΔMRQ and ΔABC

<A= <R ,

<B = <M

AB = MR

Hence, By ASA criteria ΔMRQ ≅ ΔABC

What is the 22nd term of the arithmetic sequence 12, 17, 22, 27, …?
melomori [17]
In simple words you just find what is being added to each term in order to get the next term. Subtracting 17 by 12 you get 5, 22 minus 17 is 5 as well. Now that what is being added is found, you go by the last term given which is 27. You keep adding 5 to the number until you get to the 22nd term which would result in 117. If you would want to know the equation in order for it to be plugged in then you would use f(x)= 7+5x . You would want to use this equation instead of f(x)= 12+5x because putting 1 as x would make it equal to 17 which is NOT the first term but the second.

What is the measure of an angle that is complementary to a 47° angle?
77julia77 [94]
Complementary angles add up to 90 so
angle + 47 = 90
angle = 90 - 47
angle = 43 so A
