Okay so to get to 8 from 5, you add 3.

Now to get to 14 from 8, you add 6.

Lastly, to get to 26 from 14, you add 12.

Do you see the pattern in 3,6,12? You're just doubling. So, next in the sequence would be 50 because you would add 24 to 26 (because 12 x 2 = 24)

I hope this helps! :)

? is the number of oranges that are needed to be found that were bought

What is the value of x?

Enter your answer in the box.
scoray [572]

Answer:

x=11

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the lines in the middle are parallel, we know that both sides are proportional to each other.

6:48 can be simplified to 1:8

Since we know the left side ratio is 1:8, we need to match the right side with the same ratio

We can multiply the ratio by 5 to match 5:3x+7

5:40

5:3x+7

Now we can set up the equation: 40=3x+7

Subtract 7 from both sides

3x=33

x=11

What is the area of this trapezoid?

175 in²
140 in²
129 in²
85 in²
aksik [14]
Area of trapezoid = (B1 + B2)h/2

B1 = 15 in. + 4 in. + 6 in. = 25 in.
B2 = 15 in.
h = 7 in.

Area = (25 in. + 15 in.)(7 in.)/2 = 140 in.^2

a force of 2 pounds is needed to stretch a spring 8 inches.what force is required to stretch the spring 16 inches
Korvikt [17]

Answer:

Four (4) pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

Because we required two (2) pounds to stretch the spring eight (8) inches, we need double the force to stretch it sixteen (16) inches. Sixteen is just double the original amount, meaning we need four (4) pounds to stretch the spring sixteen inches.

Hope this helps!
