Answer:

Check down below the complete answer. That includes more than 250 words of how the Mayflower Compact influences The United States of America Modern Government and society.

Explanation:

The Mayflower Compact is the first government document o the Plymouth colony. Therefore it has a big cultural value in all spheres of society because it shaped the environment and the conditions of the colony to contribute to the current state the country has. The first major factor that makes the mayflower compact a relevant document is that it was originally intended for the Virginia Colony, nevertheless because the company o adventurers were short of provision and they needed to land before their journey became too complicated to e handled. They decided to land, however, some of the passengers from non-puritan origin started to manifest their desire to live on their judgment and rule because they were not going to stablish were they were supposed to. Thus, the Pilgrims decide to créate their government but remain loyal and supporters of the English Crown. Their major argument was to compromise themselves to achieve survival and order for the sake of the group. It was a very good resolution after observing the non-puritans behavior. But they were a strong group because they had a past together. Considering they lived in Leiden for a few years and they remained loyal to the English Crown. So, these are decisions made in the name of democracy, freedom, justice, human rights, and the common good. This reflects the influence of the settlement in the nowadays United States of America. If we didn't have had this kind of leaders and ideas, the United States of America would have been a very different country. But we can observe democracy in the very first moments of existence of the country.

Would modern liberals or modern conservatives accept the views of 19th century liberals ? Briefly explain your answer
Lady bird [3.3K]

Answer:

Explanation:

The words and concepts of Conservatism and Liberalism have changed in meaning since the nineteenth century.  Modern conservatives want less government intervention in their lives, which is the exact opposite of what it meant to be a conservative in the nineteenth century.  Another term for conservatism in this century is monarchism, as conservatives desired social stability through monarchical rule.  Conservatives believed in tradition and hierarchy to govern over a nation.  There were three main essential anchors of social harmony: Monarchy, Aristocracy and Church.  They did not believe that all men were created equal, and that some men were in fact born greater than others.  A nation has to have a wide reach into the lives of its citizens and that each nation was dedicated to increasing the power of the nation.  Liberals took another approach to the conservative thought of government intervention in its citizens’ lives.  They believed that each individuals had inherent rights and every citizen should be able to work their way up in the social class of the nation.  Their goal was complete economic, personal and political freedom.  Liberals were made up of primarily the middle class.  While the liberals sound like the good guys in the nineteenth century, it is important to keep in mind that they did not believe in giving power to women, the poor nor the uneducated.  Conservatism vs Liberalism was a battle between monarchs and the middle class to gain power.
