Taking in oxygen is very important because it allows the food you eat. Plants breath as well, by breathing through tiny opening in leaves called stomata. It open and close to allow the intake of carbon dioxide and the release of oxygen.

The diagrams show the sound waves produced in one second from various tuning forks. Which sound wave has the lowest pitch?
zepelin [54]

Answer:

The answer is A. I know you don't want to do edg. but try to learn something at least from my explanation.

Explanation:

The one with the lowest pitch is the one with the fewest (or lowest) amount of waves. D has 3, C and B have 2. A has 1. Also I just took the test... anyway... have fun!

Steel ball is dropped onto a hard floor from a height of 1.50 m and rebounds to a height of 1.45 m.
Amiraneli [1.4K]

Answer:

Vb= 5.42 m/s

Vc= 5.33 m/s

a=-1125\ m/s^2

Δ L= 0.43 mm

Explanation:

a)  A to B

Initial velocity Va = 0 m/s

As we know that

V^2=U^2+2aS

V_b^2=2\times 9.81\times 1.5

Vb= 5.42 m/s

b)

C to D

Vd= 0 m/s

0^2=V_c^2-2\times 9.81\times 1.45

Vc= 5.33 m/s

c)

Here

Vb= 5.42 m/s

Vc= 5.33 m/s

We know that

Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity

a=\dfrac{V_c-V_b}{t}

a=\dfrac{5.33-5.42}{8\times 10^{-5}}

a=-1125\ m/s^2

d)

Now length compressed given as

V_c^2=V_b^2+2a\Delta L

5.33^2=5.42^2-2\times 1125\times  \Delta L

  Δ L= 0.43 mm

How much work does the electric field do in moving a proton from a point with a potential of +175 v to a point where it is -55 v
Aleksandr [31]

as per the question the proton is taken from the point of 175 volt to the point of -55 volt.

the work done in case of electric filed is given as

               W=Vab *q

where Vab is the potential difference between two points.

Vab =Va-Vb

       =175-[-55]volt

        = 230 volt

the charge of proton is q=1.602*10^{-19}

hence the work done will be-

      W=230 volt ×1.602*10^{-19} coulomb

         =368.46*10^{-19} joule [ans]

In comparing sunspots to other areas of the sun's surface one can say that sunspots are...?
taurus [48]

Answer:

D. Cooler

Explanation:

The Sun's surface has a temperature ranging from 6 000 Kelvin, thus it is very hot. The radioactive reaction in the core of the Sun is a nuclear fusion reaction. This reaction ensures continuous release of high energy from the surface of the Sun.

But during the reaction, some parts becomes cooler than other parts on its surface. Which is due to the release of high amount of energy into space. The Sun's spot can be found in the cooler part of the Sun.
