Hi!
So the nearest tenth is the number right after the decimal. We are looking at 5 to see if we round up or down.
The rule is that if the number is less than 5 you round down or leave the number that's already before it. If it is 5 or above, you round one point above(in some cases, others it can be more)
The number after the first 1 is 5 and so you round up.
Your answer is 0.2
hope this helps!

The nearest tenth is the number directly right to the decimal

0 : ones
.  : decimal point
1 : tenths
5 : hundredths
6 : thousandths
1 : ten- thousandths.

Find the nearest tenths. The unit next to tenths is <em>hundredths</em>.

Digits 5 and greater, round up, digits 4 and lower, round down.

The digit in the hundredths place is 5, and so you round up.

0.1561 rounded to nearest tenth is 0.2

0.2 is your answer

hope this helps

A movie theater decreased the size of its popcorn bags by 20%. If the old bags held 15 cups of popcorn, how much do the new bags
vovikov84 [41]

Answer:

<em>Your answer will be </em>12<em> cups of popcorn.</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

To find out how much the new bags hold, you need to find out the discount.

\frac{20}{100 } = .2

15 * .2 = 3

<em>We know that the discount is </em>3<em>.</em>

<em>To figure out how much the new bags hold, subtract by the old bags.</em>

15 - 3 = 12

<em>The new bags hold 12 cups of popcorn. </em>

A factory produce bicycles at a rate of 110+0.5t^2-0.9t bicycles per week (t in weeks)
klasskru [66]

Answer:

221

Step-by-step explanation:

Day 8 is the first day of the second week.

Day 21 is the last day of week 3.

We need to know the n umber of bicycles made from t = 1 to t = 3

The function is b(t) = 110 + 0.5t^2 - 0.9t, where t is in weeks.

We need to integrate the function with the limits of 1 to 3.

\int_{1}^{3} (110 + 0.5t^2 - 0.9t) dt

\int_{1}^{3} (110 + \dfrac{t^2}{2} - \dfrac{9t}{10}) dt

= 110t + \dfrac{t^3}{6} - \dfrac{9t^2}{20} \Biggr|_{1}^{3}

= 330.45 - 109.72

= 220.7333

Answer: 221
