Tracy used the expression (25.6) (16.2) + (25.6) (36.5) + (16.2) (37.8) to find the surface area, in square centimeters, of the

rectangular pyramid below.
A rectangular pyramid. The rectangular base has a length of 25.6 centimeters and width of 16.2 centimeters. 2 triangular sides have a base of 25.6 centimeters and height of 36.5 centimeters. 2 triangular sides have a base of 16.2 centimeters and height of 37.8 centimeters.

Which statement best describes her work?
Tracy’s answer will be incorrect because she forgot the factor One-half in the expression representing the area of the triangular faces.
Tracy’s answer will be incorrect because the pyramid has five faces and her expression finds the sum of only three products.
Tracy’s answer will be correct because she made use of the fact that 2 (one-half) = 1 in her expression.

So 25.6 + 16.2 + 25.6 + 36.5 + 16.2 + 37.8 = 1961.48

I would say the second statement would best describe her work, because it is giving the most detail out of those statements.

Hope this helps!

What is the distance between the points D(15,6) and E (-4, 2)? Round to
slamgirl [31]

Answer:

d= 19.4units

Step-by-step explanation:

Given coordinates:

     D(15,6) and E (-4, 2);

Unknown:

Distance between the two points  = ?

Solution:

To solve this problem, the distance between two points can be found using the expression below:

   d = \sqrt{(x_{2} - x_{1})^{2} + (y_{2} - y_{1} ) ^{2}   }

x₁ = 15

x₂ = -4

y₁ = 6

y₂ = 2

 Insert the parameters and solve;

    d = \sqrt{[(-4 -15)]^{2} + [(2 -6)]^{2}  }

    d  = \sqrt{(-19)^{2} + (-4)^{2}  }

    d = \sqrt{361 + 16}

    d = \sqrt{377}

    d= 19.4units

Natalie picks 40 bushels in 12 hours and Mary can pick the same amount in 11 hours. how long would it take if they worked togeth
rosijanka [135]

Answer: 5.73\ hours or 5\ hours\ and\ 44\ minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

You can use the following work-rate formula:

\frac{t}{t_A}+\frac{t}{t_B}=1

In this case let be {t_A} the time  it takes for Natalie to pick 40 bushels, {t_B} the time it takes for Mary to pick 40 bushels and t the time it takes to pick 40 bushels  if they work together.

Based on the information given in the exercise, you can identify that:

t_A=12\\\\t_B=11

Then, knowing this values, you need to substitute them into the formula:

 \frac{t}{12}+\frac{t}{11}=1

Finally, you must solve for "t" in order to find its value.

The result is:

t(\frac{1}{12}+\frac{1}{11})=1\\\\t(\frac{23}{132})=1\\\\t=\frac{132}{23}\\\\t=5.73\ hours

Since 1\ hour=60\ minutes:

(0.73\ hours)(\frac{60\ minutes}{1\ hour})\approx44\ minutes

Therefore it would take 5 hours and 44 minutes  to pick 40 bushels if they worked together.

Solve this system of linear equations. Separate
Svet_ta [14]
-3(-4x + 2y = 12) 2(-13x + 3y = 46)
12x -6y = -36 -26x + 6y = 92

12x - 6y = -36
-26x + 6y = 92
-14x 0 = 56
-14x/-14 = 56/-14.
X = -4.

-4x + 2y = 12
-4(-4) + 2y = 12
16 + 2y = 12
-16. -16
2y/ 2 = -4/2
Y = -2

-4x + 2y = 12
-4(-4) + 2(-2) = 12
16 -4 = 12
12 =12

(4a^2)b–ab^2–(3a^2)b+ab^2–ab+6 for a=−3, b=2
ira [324]

Answer:

30

Step-by-step explanation:

These are generally easier to evaluate by hand if they are simplified first.

... (4a^2)b -ab^2 -(3a^2)b +ab^2 -ab +6

... = (a^2)b(4 -3) + ab^2(-1 +1) -ab +6

... = a^2·b -ab +6

... = ab(a -1) +6

... = (-3)(2)(-3-1) +6

... = (-6)(-4)+6

... = 24 +6 = 30
